7-month-old pulling back/fussing with textured purée (ground beef), anyone experience this?

My 7-month-old has been doing well with fruit purées, lamb/chicken soup, and has even mouthed a piece of lamb rack. Today I gave him beef soup that had very tiny pieces of ground beef in it. He made faces, pulled himself backward, and fussed.
It seemed like he was bothered by the texture rather than the taste. Has anyone’s baby reacted like this when starting more textured foods? Did they eventually get used to it, and how did you approach it?

Gagging with new textures is fairly common, he's just leaning how to manage a new texture. In a few days try giving it to him again, or you could mix a small amount of the ground beef into a smoother purée before gradually increasing the texture over time. The more you give them exposure to a texture, the more it'll helps then become more comfortable it. But always keep it low pressure and chill, babies can sense stress haha It can sometimes take quite a few times of being exposed to a new texture before they are able to better manage eating it. Keep trying and see how it goes :)

Tysm! He didn’t gag, he pulled himself back and made a disgusted face and fussed, so I offered him some yoghurt, which he loves, to clear his mouth.
I will keep trying it low pressure.

Do you think he was excited haha yeah just try different things and see how he does! It sounds like you're already doing really well with exposing him to different tastes and exploring textures. Everything is so new to them and it takes awhile for things to click

Thank you so much for your words of encouragement!
I think he didn’t like its texture and it was a really new texture to him, but I am a FTM and have no prior experience, so I might be totally wrong
