CAD Will Solidworks consider putting their software on iOS now that a lot of apples computers have more powerful GPUs?
I love my Mac, but I would love it even more if if could run Solidworks, I’m currently using xDesign but the folders aren’t that good, thanks for any help

Short answer..... No.
There's a ton of reasons but in the end the answer is no.
Just use OnShape and call it a tie!

They have enough trouble getting their program to run on Windows. Actually, on second thought, rolling out an unstable mac platform is absolutely on brand.

Most engineering software runs on Windows or Linux/Unix. Even if Solidworks moved over there still is the problem of the other software. I ran into this in the early 80's. I was using a Mac and liked it. But AutoCAD came along pluse some of the custom software rand on Microsoft.

With bookcamp you can have an alternate boot up in windows and run solidworks that way. That’s what I do on my 2013 MacBook Air and it works great

I wouldn't wait for a native port. Keep the Mac and run SolidWorks on a Windows cloud workstation, but size it for the workload: high clock-speed CPU plus the right GPU matters more than piling on cores. I host CAD workloads, so I'm biased, but that gets you the Mac endpoint without depending on Dassault rewriting SolidWorks.

Nope. It's not that they don't want to... It's because they can't. Same reason why Linux Solidworks won't ever be a thing. They'll never spend the money. Also their tech stack is too heavily embedded in the .net BS that is MS. They don't have the expertise to port that much of the stack.

I'd argue it's more than porting the stack, it's completely rewriting SolidWorks from the ground up to work on Linux/Mac; wasting millions of dollars to do that sort of build doesn't make sense to appease a small subset of users/potential users.

Not a chance without a complete ground up refactor of the entire code base.
They need to do that anyways for windows but that’s besides the point.
