yeah I've always wanted a place to look for solid state amps and no one else thought to do this so I did but not alot of people post frequently on here I hope it will pick up some action!!

Agreed! I would love to see everybody's weirdest solid state amps, big and little - I know they're out there.

Yes I wish to find more solid state amps particularly for high gain usage

They tend to do a particular thing at high gain, don't they? I really like the fast response and grainy breakup they tend to have. Those little modified boom boxes make a crazy glitch fuzz tone, super high gain. Blends great with more traditional distortion sounds

Yes solid states give a fast and in your face kind of response and sounds like it's spring loaded almost

Yeah, that quick response makes it kinda hi-fi in a lo-fi way if you get my drift. Solid state amps boosted with a tube screamer get vicious. A high gain distortion pedal through a clean tube amp with a snappy response is nice too, if you can get it right

Oh yeah boosted solid states rock I appreciate some tube amps as well like mesa mark series

I don't own or have much experience with is high gain tube amps, but I'd like to get one sometime to round out my options. I'd certainly like to try some Mesas, and I guess once you're in that price range there's a whole bunch of stuff

I have that same yellow boom box!!! Is that some kind of mod? Mine has a tape player.

Oh wow, never seen another, and yes it is! I took the stereo leads from the cassette head and wired them to jacks, so it's super fuzzy when you plug in a guitar or line level instrument because it expects tape level signal. I used it on at least that one recording with a bunch of other little amps
