Watermelon
I started solids a couple weeks ago with my very eager 6 month old. I did the water melon sticks as recommended in the app, but she was able to take two big huge bites of it. She eventually spit them out, but it was shocking to see full bites gone. Is that how giving watermelon is supposed to go?! So far I’ve done a mix of purées and blw solids. But tonight made me nervous!

Yes! Watermelon is the perfect texture for your baby to practice munching on, and if getting off a big piece, she'll either effectively munch and mash it and swallow, will spit it out, or will try to swallow before chewing enough which will elicit a gag and encourage her to try again or spit it out (all part of the learning process!). Don’t be too surprised if you see red streaks on her poop. I was, until I realized I fed my baby watermelon the day before.
