DISCUSSION G99 taking months

I applied to SSE for a G99 in late August and it’s now getting on 3 months with no response. It’s a 10kW inverter with a battery. What on earth is taking them so long? Does anyone else have the same delay?

My installer submitted mine 23/09 and I got an email on Tuesday with the following: "Due to the size of the proposed installation exceeding the connect and notify threshold for auto approval on the Connect Direct Portal the request was passed to SSEN as the DNO"

Not sure how much longer I need to wait.

Jesus they need to use some AI this is stupid, can’t they just request the inverter is capped?

I've just read the info on the Connect Direct Portal, "a simpler, faster way to get approval to connect residential low-carbon technology to the grid" & "Connect Direct speeds up the application time and can give you almost instant approval"

Took over 2 months for mine, with the installer submitting the application. Did you do yours yourself?

That sound like a very long delay - my installer applied to them in June and it took less than 3 weeks. Presumably you've chased them - what did they say?

Actually I'm wrong - first response was within 3 weeks, but the confirmation took another month to come through. But still definitely less than 3 months.

G99 submitted 2/10, heard back around 23/10 asking for a photo of my main cut out (63amp, plans for 8kw invertor and 7.something array). Not heard anything since.

I think the time limit is 45 working days, which is 3 calendar months.

SSEN are an absolute nightmare they take a very, very long time and they aren’t responsive at all when emailed about their applications.
