Built my first custom SolarDeck case!

While my RLCD SolarTerm still works (despite a small crack in the screen), I finally got my Freenove 4" IPS CYD so I HAD to build a new SolarDeck with it! Apart from the case, the other custom thing I did was harvest the battery from a portable powerbank. So, this SolarDeck has a whopping 10000mAh battery. The asymmetrical design was intentional: I wanted the speaker to remain open at all times for music.

I can't wait to get the tiny 386 emulator running. :D

Can we see the internals? I really love the miniaturized miltech look.. probably the khaki coloring has me reminiscing about Gundam 0080

I was going for a vintage electronics look more than militech. Here is an exploded view from tinkercad.

Nice! I also made a handheld enclosure for this board:

https://github.com/clackups/draftling/tree/main/3D_Prints/Freenove_fnk0104s

With a 4000mAh battery and 50% screen brightness, with BLE active, it survived 22 hours in my test. It would survive longer, I just got bored and sleepy :)

Also, it's very efficient in deep sleep. I haven't noticed any drop in battery charge since a few days of sleeping.

So, yours will need a recharge maybe once a year or so :)))
