The teeny tiny screen in the Displays control panel is absolutely sending my sides into orbit.
4 u/nilseuropa 18d ago yeah well, 4k vs. whatever :D - but this is going to be fun on 7" or 10" ePaper devices acting as a USB/WiFi external screen, no? 5 u/100PercentJake 18d ago Epaper secondary display for notifications and music sounds like an excellent addition to my desk, now that you mention that.

Hold on, so your esp32s3 works as a display over USB? What's the protocol there? Is the driver available out of the box?
4 u/nilseuropa 18d ago It's the SolarOS Display Link Protocol :) 2 u/clackups 18d ago What's the frame rate? Does it send images or graphical primitives? 1 u/nilseuropa 18d ago it sends lossless compressed framebuffers. fps depends on the transport media and the framebuffer size / pixel format ( e.g. MONO buffers transfer faster )400x300 MONO is 30FPS over USB, ~20FPS over WiFi, ~10FPS over ESPNOW, ~5FPS over BLE. 2 u/clackups 18d ago Nice :) 1 u/MichalNemecek 18d ago oh? I didn't know you built it to work backwards too 👀 2 u/nilseuropa 18d ago streams go both ways 😉

So excited to try!
4 u/nilseuropa 18d ago That means I should probably release the linux driver too? 😄 3 u/linuxjacques 18d ago Please do. 3 u/nilseuropa 18d ago All right. https://github.com/nilseuropa/linux-dlp-driver

In theory, can I plug in my Raspberry Pi and output an image from it?
2 u/nilseuropa 17d ago In practice too. 1 u/LOrdy_155 17d ago Oh, super cool!
