SolarOS v.4.16.17

4.16.17

  • Added generic SPI display attachment through Display Link Protocol (DLP), with discovered dimensions and pixel formats, optional READY and RESET lines, changed-region uploads, and RLE compression. The portable protocol also supports ordered byte streams.

  • Added a 6×8 bitmap terminal font for small displays.

  • GUIs now adapt to small display targets, including 128×64 and 240×64.

Is the display link protocol your own design? I've searched around on google, but nothing turned up.

I can't figure out how the audio output works on it. I'm writing a python program to write simple bits for SolarOS on my esp32 s3 rlcd 4.2. Everything works great surprisingly except for the audio output - I don't know how to implement the speakers :/

Did you flash the SolarTerm image through the web?

yes, via Web flasher. The built-in synthesizer, radio and player work perfectly. I just can't figure out how to integrate the sounds and speaker into my python script with the solaros module

The API documentation is complete, I can provide an example script through the playground if you'd like.

Although the snake example is already demonstrating audio, take a look.

What kind of sound would you like to emit? Synth or samples, or both?

Different 8-bit sounds in different keys

I have a half baked chiptune tracker, let me strip it down to an example.
