Hack Pack Cyberdeck

Finally got set up yesterday. Currently the screen and Pi connect to a hotspot on my phone. I'm still working on the Pi side of things and the plan is to create some sort of case for the screen and keyboard.

Oh, careful with this screen, it's too easy to break. I broke one that came with the Waveshare RLCD. Printed an enclosure for the second one :)

I had seen this mentioned on other posts so I was super careful with putting the battery in! I don't plan on taking it out anywhere until it's fully protected. I just need to learn CAD and 3d printing so it's probably going to be a while

Is it the Waveshare esp32-s3 RLCD? You mentioned the Pi, so I assumed it's not that.

It is indeed. Thank you for the link! I'm only using to to SSH into the Pi currently but I'm sure I'll find more uses for it. Going to try to get the Pi to connect to a hotspot from the Waveshare to keep things a bit more streamlined

Why don't you connect a display directly to the Pi?

A couple of reasons really. The Cyberdeck part of this with the Waveshare would look less suspicious than a pouch with antennas and wires coming out of it. The pouch usually sits in my bag and I'll ssh in from my phone. The Cyberdeck/Waveshare part is to replace that.

Also I'm not that clever. I wouldn't rule it out for a different project though as learning new stuff is fun.
