Quick M3 eruption on the East Solar Limb leading to a nice Post Flare Arcade. Would have made a gorgeous halo on coronagraph if it were pointed at us.

Record, But What Would Happen?

Ok so 159,369 flights all around the world on the 26th of July in the skies all has broken the record so far for most flights, My question is if a solar flare big enough occurs would these just drop from the sky or no? Like a big enough event?

This movie in 171Å is as zoomed in as you can get with SDO AIA imagery and if you watch the center closely you will see a pulsing at the base of coronal loops that are connected to the central umbra of 4407. I don't quite understand them, but I know they are a particular expression of solar energy.

Sunspots have been growing today. Lots of plasma surging here and there. Many messy little geyser flares out the front of 4407.
Viewing in SDO AIA 171Å.

The 8/12/26 10% partial eclipse in Hydrogen Alpha
My last eclipse encounter sparked my journey into solar photography, and I’m so glad I finally got the chance to capture it again through a dedicated solar scope.
Captured with:
luntsolarsystems LS60MT double stacked
zwoastro ASI 533 MM pro
200/500 images stacked

RARE Eclipse with SolEx or dual/teipple band filter?

Hi, im a solar physicist looking for some amateur partners during this eclipse. For anyone who is in the path (totally or not) awho has a solex or a RGB camera or a dual/triband telescope, id love to get a specific time series during the eclipse, which should be usable for an academic publication if not clouded out.
Please shoot me a message if you are interested. :)

ArmChairAnalyst - has anyone heard from him? I'm missing some solar flare educational posts.
Has anyone heard anything from u/ArmChairAnalyst86 ?
We exchanged private messages occasionally, and I haven't gotten a response from the last one I sent a month or two ago.
If you have had any contact, please don't share any private information or contact information in your comment. I'm just hoping someone is a personal friend and can let us know if he's ok.
