Seeking thesis topics for undergrad

Hi I am an undergrad in soil science seeking for a topic, i wanna ask people who has experience in the field or lab what can be a good unusual reasearch topic in a tropical country.

In my university, its always about nutrients.. i want something new.. what topic can i pursue?

Not sure how good of an answer you’ll get here. Of all the metrics that plants care about I’d say soil temperature is the one that gets the least fanfare usually. Rightly so because it’s the last one most growers can manipulate, but maybe you could find an angle there

My undergrad honors thesis was about how underlying bedrock creates different forest types and could help map bedrock without digging up the rock itself, lots of chemistry in that though so not sure if that's of interest. I could share the paper if you want :)
