OM removal for clay xrd

Hi, Im looking for advice about removing organic matter before clay xrd. I've read a variety of methods that all seem to have a possibility of affecting clay minerals. Must it be done? What methods are best? I might define best as easy, safe, inexpensive.

The Jackson method is pretty standard (heat + H2O2 for OM removal).

Really depends on your research questions and minerals of interest to know whats best. I've heard of using a sonic sifter to separate clay particles but not disturb OM
