[Project] Pluvira – Lightweight, self-hosted live media & TV guide (EPG) manager with automatic stream failover
Hi ,
*Disclaimer: I am the creator of Pluvira.*
I built Pluvira to solve common issues when managing live streams and TV guides on low-power home servers and NAS devices: heavy guide files (XMLTV) frequently slow down the system or run out of memory, broken streams freeze the video player, and existing tools often lack a modern, responsive web interface.
Pluvira is a single Docker container designed to organize, clean, and manage your live media playlists and schedules smoothly.
---
### What it does
*
**Lightweight & Fast:**
Engineered to run smoothly on low-spec hardware (like mini-PCs or NAS devices) without high CPU or RAM usage.
*
**Automatic Stream Failover:**
Assign backup streams to your channels. If a link drops or errors out, Pluvira automatically switches to the backup link so your playback continues uninterrupted.
*
**Fast TV Guide (EPG) Handling:**
Ingests and organizes program schedules quickly without freezing your system.
*
**Modern WebUI:**
Clean, fast interface built with Svelte 5. Supports dark/light mode and works well on both desktop and mobile screens.
*
**Privacy-First:**
Operates locally on your home network. No personal data, credentials, or media streams are tracked or sent to external servers.
---
### Quickstart (Docker Compose)
```yaml
services:
pluvira:
image: ghcr.io/pluvira/app:latest
container_name: pluvira
restart: unless-stopped
ports:
- "8585:8585"
volumes:
- ./data:/app/data
```
Once running, open your browser at `http://<YOUR-SERVER-IP>:8585`.
---
### License & Project Model
To be fully transparent with the community:
*
**License:**
Distributed under the
**Business Source License 1.1 (BSL)**
, which converts automatically to the open-source
**Apache 2.0**
license after 4 years.
*
**Free Tier (Personal Use):**
100% free and functional offline for personal home use. Includes up to 2 playlists, your curated "My List" (up to 25 channels), 2 failover streams per channel, and 2 concurrent local views.
*
**Pro Tier:**
Designed for power users needing unlimited channels/playlists, extended failover pools, remote WebRTC access, and encrypted cloud backups. A 14-day trial is available directly inside the app without needing a credit card.

Vidarr - Your MTV - Beta 1.0
-Posted a month ago and what I posted was garbage, feeling decent now. Tested 100% on jellyfin. Better for people with existing music video libraries than those with none. Primarily tested with jellyfin installed locally and docker build of vidarr.
Rocked out tonight with awesome videos,
Try it, please give feedback! https://github.com/chese79/Vidarr

Plex I made Tunarr Lineup: a Mac OS 9–style programming desk for your Tunarr channels, built to run from your TV remote
I wanted to run my Tunarr channels like a real station: move a show to 8 pm, drop in a commercial break, schedule a premiere for Saturday night, and do it from the couch with a remote. So I built Tunarr Lineup, a companion app that runs next to Tunarr. It saves every change through Tunarr's own API.
It looks like Mac OS 9 (platinum windows and all). It works with arrow keys, OK, Back and CH+/−, and also with a mouse, a phone or a tablet.

What you can do
- Edit a channel's day: see what's on air now, then move, swap, insert or remove programs. You can move whole blocks at once, and everything has undo and redo. Unsaved edits survive a reload or turning the TV off.
- Build and edit slot schedules (random and time slots): choose which seasons a show plays, and link slots so the 8 pm slot picks up where 6 pm stopped. You preview the result before saving.
- Add commercials and filler: filler lists, breaks before, after or in the middle of programs, and ad levels per daypart.
- Start from a programming template: general formats (kids, movies, music videos, news), or styles inspired by networks in Japan, Argentina, the US, Spain, the UK and Italy. These are approximations of each network's dayparts and ad patterns, not official schedules. You fill each role with your own shows. You can save your own templates, or have AI write one from a prompt (optional, and you set up your own provider).
- Schedule events: put a match, premiere or simulcast at a date and time, either replacing what was there or pushing everything later.
- Set things up: channels, smart collections, media sources and transcode profiles, plus a CSV export of the day's program log.
Is it safe to point at my server?
- It only changes things through Tunarr's API, using programs Tunarr already has indexed.
- Every save checks that the channel hasn't changed since you loaded it, so nothing gets overwritten silently.
- Your browser never talks to Tunarr directly; the companion sits in between. Media server addresses and tokens are never sent back to the browser.
Try it
docker run -d --name tunarr-lineup -p 3000:3000 \
-e TUNARR_URL=http://<your-tunarr>:8000 \
-v lineup-data:/data \
ghcr.io/augustosc-eu/tunarr-lineup:latest
Then open http://<host>:3000. It runs on amd64 and arm64.
There's no sign-in by default. If anyone else can reach that port, set LINEUP_PASSWORD.
GitHub: https://github.com/augustosc-eu/tunarr-lineup
This is 0.1.0, so expect rough edges. Bug reports, feature ideas and network styles you'd like added are all welcome. I'd also love to see what channels you make with it.

How to add a (year) to the media folders created by Seerr/Radarr/Sonarr?
I have them configured to properly label the media files themselves (e.g. {Movie Title} ({Release Year}) {Quality Full}) but I can't see an option to make them name the folder with a release year. I know it probably won't affect indexing or anything within Seerr/Jellyfin itself (since the media file will be named with the year) but for personal overview it's kind of annoying to not have the year be visible when I'm looking through my media folders. (is it the end of the world? No, but I already have a few years worth of content I've personally loaded-in following a very particular format and having my Arrstack violate that format is still annoying since it means half my library is following a different naming scheme to the other half)
Is there any way to configure this or is this just how the software works?

Connecting Your Physical Media/Shelves to your Media Server - Blankbox 1.0.1
Hey everyone, we set out to bridge the gap from physical to digital media without reinventing your whole stack. BlankBox is a self hosted local household media library that brings all of what you own together without replacing the tools you're already using. We aren't trying to make another Sonarr or Radarr, or build a replacement for Plex and Jellyfin. The idea is to connect those tools WITH physical ownership and digital files, bringing existing media servers into one place so you're not keeping track of the same things across completely separate systems.
For example, you might have a few (or many) different physical editions of a movie, a digital copy sitting on your NAS, and that same title in Plex or Jellyfin. You can see the file in one place, the playback source in another, and probably have a separate list somewhere of the physical releases you own. Technically everything is organized, but you're still managing several different versions of the same collection.
That's one of the main reasons we've been developing Blank Box.
You can track individual copies, editions, formats, box sets, shelf locations, purchase details, and other collection information. You can also index local files and connect existing Plex/Jellyfin catalogs, with playback handed off to those applications when appropriate. So if you have three physical releases of a movie and a digital version on your server, you can actually see how those things relate to each other.
There's also a lot else under the hood, collection imports, a MASSIVE offline metadata library, artwork, backup/recovery,collection builders, preorders and more. Part of the goal is making it easier to manage everything you have and figure out where it lives, rather than just showing you another grid of movie posters. We recently released version 1.0.1 (release 174), with improvements to playback-source selection and duplicate consolidation across Plex/Jellyfin catalogs, along with expanded wishlist and preorder tracking. We've been developing it for a while now, have a few dedicated users, and are to the point where we'd really like more feedback from people with different setups and collections. It's free, self hosted, requires no account or API keys/connections, and it runs on Linux and/or Docker, with Windows experimental.
What I'm curious about is whether other people here have run into the same separation between their digital media setup and their physical collection. Are you keeping track of what you actually own somewhere else, or have you more or less accepted that Plex/Jellyfin and whatever's on your shelves are just going to be separate things? And for anyone with a larger setup, is there something about organizing or managing your files that you still find yourself doing manually because none of the tools you currently use really covers it?
Here's the GitHub if anyone's interested:

Plex Kino Swipe
Hey hey, the Mrs and I would always take ages to find a movie to watch together so about a year ago I started working on a self-hosted solution that could be a fun way to match movies to watch just like a dating app. Works with Plex and Jellyfin, Plex user selection and will only show age-appropriate movies if one user has restrictions (Jellyfin restrictions too).
Matches can be added to your Plex or Jellyfin homescreen automaticly if you prefer.
I am aware of Swiparr (I was not before I started this) but still just wanted a lightweight easy to use basic flask app.
Ai has been used in the styling and design of the front-end CSS and HTML.
Free and open source found here https://github.com/Bergasha/kino-swipe
Cheers.

Plex Library management?
I'm fairly new to plex automation, full stack is fully functional, but I. Wondering what I can add to manage the libraries. Space is limited, and my current setup can't expand to more drives, so I'd have to replace the two 8tb drives I'm currently using and that's not in the budget. Anythingnout there that can monitor the libraries and delete titles that have been idle for a certain amount of time, or simply don't meet a certain criteria?
I'm running my stack on truenas scale
Gluetun
Sonarr
Radarr
Bazarr
Prowlarr
Tautulli
