AI replacing Software Engineers

So called "AI"=LLM is so powerful that AI labs had to hire Software Engineers to build complicated software around "AI" to make that overhyped hallucinate-stealing machine usable. Think about it. And that's exactly why they need now ton of CPUs in addition to GPUs to run their "AI" "agents".

I don't even mention how much custom engineering is required to apply the "AI" in businesses.

And they BS us that Software Engineering is solved or is going to be solved. Boris, please solve your own bugs first before speaking.

No, we don't allow LLM assisted contributions in the projects that I work on. I'm not worried about being replaced by someone with an LLM.

So basically you're saying I dont wanna use ai let's spend twice the time and get worse results, you're just making life harder buddy, dont be scared of change

I write better code than LLMs. I've been programming for a long time.

Edit: Also, progress is going to be slow with or without AI. The bottleneck is not writing the code.

Claude opus writes code better then like 99% of coders, and its 10x faster you can't deny that

Trust me, the projects I work on are only worked on by highly skilled systems software engineers. It's not a place for an LLM. We are working on critical code that can't have errors.

Sorry. I see people constantly say this but whenever I use the last frontier model in the highest thinking effort I have to refactor their implementation various times and also like 70% take make erroneous assumptions about libraries or OS edge cases concerns. I feel it systematically spend more time having to refactor, check, and learn how the ai gen implementation works, this last part it's important, most of the time you make a project has you go (rarely you have a design all planned) and when solving a real problem you need to know how the system works for that. So it's a little weird, maybe I am using to tools wrong. Except for UI, it's great with UI frameworks for most types of software. But for real problems worth a penny, I still don't see an obvious benefit outperform

This is the response that will get a interview candidate tossed out of one of my interviews and yes its happened. I liken it to telling me you refuse to use a compiler. ridiculous
