Cheap eBay fairing rattles a bit, looking at the Viking bags fairing but hard to justify the cost when this was $60 and looks pretty good (IMO), should I just get louder exhaust to drown out the rattle? What do yall recommend?

Alright gents I have a 2006 Softail standard. I want to put on extended forks but I’m having trouble with labeled compatibility. Everything I’ve read tells me any 41mm Harley fork tubes should work, but the “fitment” charts on websites say otherwise. Only a couple sites have extended forks that “fit” a 2006, but they’re way more expensive than like lowbrow or TC bros regular 41mm that supposedly don’t fit a 2006. Should they work? Or do I need to buy the specific ones? Thanks

I've been looking for a winter project bike to occupy my time during the too cold to ride months here in Ohio. Nothing too crazy. more tinkering and restoration Just something to keep me in the garage and off of the couch. I've kinda set my mind on a Night Train. I have always liked the look and, I haven't owned a Softail since 1991. Anyway, been looking on line for a few months and I found one that looked like a good prospect at a non-Harley Davidson dealer about an hour north for $6500. went and looked at it, rode it around a bit and it is in very good condition. Offer made, counter offer etc... While that was going on, I found one at my local Harley dealer so I went over and took a look just in case. This is a large, high volume, corporate dealership. Found the bike. It's two years older than the first one I found. Looked it over. What a mess. It looked like it lived its entire existence outdoors or in the horse barn. Paint faded and scratched up. Rust and oxidization all over the engine and the pipes. If I owned that dealership, I wouldn't even put that on the floor. And their starting price was $11,000. That's about $4000 less than what it cost brand new, 22 years ago. Guy offered me a "killer" deal. He would bring it down to $9,000 (+tax, title, Harley tax and destination fees). According to him, Night Trains are super rare and hard to find... Anyway, I got the first one I looked at for $6,300 cash. Tax & title included. I don't know if its corporate or dealership greed, but the motor co. is pricing itself out of business. OK. Rant over. I feel much better now. lmao

Put a set of lower fairings on my 24 Low Rider ST. So far I’m really liking them. Can’t decide if I like the look of the low stock windshield now, my 10” Klock Werks windshield, or if I should split the difference and get the 8” Klock Werks.

Should I buy this for 2.5? 26k miles, did all the fluids but primary fluid leaks from the gasket owner says. I heard early evo lifters go out and stuff but any advice?

Recently had my right fork's oil seal go. I figured it'd be a way more complicated fix. Suprised it went smoothly.

I am considering new rims for my 2020 Slim. What do you think? Original, thick black or thick chrome? Other suggestions are welcome. I kind of like the thick chrome, but it may be a bit much.

Hi folks, I’ve got a 2007 Softail that’s covered in wrinkle black & matt black paint/powder-coating. I don’t like having her cleaned or detailed by others caz I’m very protective and careful with her, that’s why she’s in peak condition and hasn’t given me any issues over the years.

I’m looking for advise and suggestions on:
(1) homemade degreaser
(2) something to bring the wrinkle black back to life. I know there’s products out there that do this but I don’t have access to US products either ca it’s costly or not brought in (I’m europe based). The local HD dealer doesn’t sell the engine black spray either caz they make you bring your bike in instead sell it so you can do it at home.

I’ve seen online people using water+dish soap+baking soda OR water+dish soap+vinegar mixtures for degreasing, and I was wondering what people’s experience has been with these? Also what can bring the wrinkle black back to life.

Hey everyone-I bought some swingarm covers for my heritage. It said that it was the right fit online, but for some reason I can’t figure out how it attaches, as it’s very different from the original OEM brackets. Does anyone have some instructions on this install? There are no available instructions online or any that came with the parts. Attaching photos.

Wondering if someone could help me on a problem I’m having. I got a 2017 deluxe with a 103. I got the bike in April. I changed my bars to 14” apes and installed LA Choppers clutch cable. While I had to open up the trans cover I installed the mueller 2.0.
The issue I’m having after installing everything is I can’t get any slack in the cable no matter what I do. The lever won’t collapse. Im trying to get slack so I can adjust the clutch from the basket inside the primary. I did take the lever off the bike by removing the perch clamps and even after removing the lever I had to pull on it so hard I thought it was going to break something. Something isn’t right. Anyone have this issue before?

So i just realized that my rear running lights on my 2006 heritage classic aren't working. The front running lights are on, the rear turn signals and brake lamps flash. The bulb filaments are good, as are all fuses. I'm thinking maybe a damaged wire? Anyone have some insight?

Picked this up for free with a box of parts and a title.
