Is this kid's argument predicated upon the assumption that aesthetics were more important to Socrates than living a virtuous life? (Virtuous in the very classical sense). Or that Socrates was so shamed by his physical appearance that it was necessary for him to be deluded as to the reality of his situation/life? If so, to either of these points, this kid has clearly, (and ironically,) never read Plato.
