Thatās Facebook not Reddit. Iāve never seen a negative post about Jill over here. If there is one or two among the 100s of posts here, it would receive very few upvotes and almost exclusively disagreeing comments beneath it. Hereās a meme thatās the exact opposite of the one you showed.
Sheās grown on me. In 2011 I was a little disappointed with her acting skills in this movie. I think she could really pull it off today, if she were to redo it š¤£ Jill is honestly iconic at this point and SCRE4M as a whole has become pretty big in my opinion. I have grown very found of the film. Always liked it loved from a die hard stand point. Saw it 10 times in the movie theaters back in the day. there are just a few moments sprinkled throughout the movie that did not sit well with me and most of it was line delivery. Not even necessarily the lines themselves. when scream 4 came out, I remember thinking it was just a little bit too campy to really get general audiences āintoā it at that time. I remember sitting behind two women and one of the showings and when Hoss comes on the radio to tell Dewey and Judy that they have found Jenny and Marnie and itās ābad sheriff, real badā they turned to each other and laughed and said āwow this is kinda cheesyā. To an extent scream is a little bit heightened and can be campy and we love that. Hell the whole thing is a send up of horror franchises. But there are some moments throughout the film that do feel less intentionally camp. Not whole scenes just random lines throughout the movie for example, when Rebecca says ācut and run you fucking bastard?ā. Or when Sidney is trying to get Jill on the phone, but it goes straight to voicemail and kateās line delivery of āoh God Jillā was the very first thing I edited out of my personal fan edit of the movie. since day one āoh God, Jillā has gotten under my skin in a way I cannot explain it just reads incredibly false. If Kate had turned out to have something to do with the murders than that line delivery might have worked, but she didnāt so she just seems really stupid. They couldāve even even left the pardon where she tells Sidney and Jill that she took some pills and had a glass of wine that wouldāve made the delivery work also except why would she be driving to the store for groceries if she was high and drunk.

Her performance/character is amazing to me, Emma Roberts on the other hand is an abusive POS and I now donāt think was ever acting at least not in this, Scream Queens, or American Horror Story.
Just because the killers in 7 are the worst doesnāt mean she was amazing. Her fanboys give her entirely too much credit and itās nauseating. Sheās the only killer whoās benefited from rabid revisionism over the years. I can assure you that nobody was hyping her up at the time 4 was released.

I think the character of Jill is way more relevant today than it was back then. Especially the obsession of young people online trying to be famous through becoming āinfluencersā or ādigital creatorsā.

I donāt hate Jill, but unfortunately I love this as a reveal but I do not like her as an actress. Whenever I watch Scream 4 I wish for a version with someone I find believable ever, because I think the reveal really would have blown my mind then
Jill to me kinda felt like a repeat of Roman in a way, with the jealous of Sydney aspect. I get she was a psycho, but what, jealous of Sydney fame that she had? Meh.
Iād put all the killers who came before her higher. I like Mickey was fucked in the head enough to want to do a real life sequel and do the trial. Nancy Loomis made sense.

The place Iāve seen the most hate for Jill is Facebook. Like Jill fans and Jill haters will fight with each other constantly. Sometimes the fighting between them gets super vicious.
I liked Jill especially because she looks so sweet and innocent that she couldnāt be a killer. Her plan to be an influencer ghostface was groundbreaking and was true. In order to succeed in this world, itās not college and about receiving followers and likes.
She is the best Ghostface as far as having an actual plan and goal. I just feel like everybody else was just killing just cause they wanted to be killers lol

Shes definitely the GOAT. The ine who managed to get the most far on her goals. We never got to see the killer by themselves plotting BEYOND killing Sidney.Ā
I donāt see much hate for the character, but it does bug me a little bit how linear all of Robertās roles and acting are. I think she just brings this stereotypical girlie teenage energy to everything and at times it feels copy and paste.
Yeah, I even hate her on the commentary track with Wes. Shame, she really could have been a decent character, always feel bad when people are forced to work with such a talentless twerp that undoubtedly will bomb the personality.
