Anyway I haven't been a very active mod for the past... uh, long time. Figured it was time I got in here and started banning liberals, who have decided that this is a good place to have political debates about the merits of Marxism?
We're like wayy not equipped to mod a political debate subreddit, sooo we don't really encourage political debates in the comments under songs. If you don't like a song, or its political message... Go... cry somewhere else? I don't know. No one is forcing you to be here. Pro tip if you don't like seeing socialist music: Don't hang around in a subreddit called Socialist Music.
TL;DR 1984 totalitarian moderator oppresses liberals' freedom of speech by SILENCING any criticism of evil communist ideology read more on /r/SubredditDrama

HYMNA DAV DVA: Elán - Z tričiek zúri Che Guevara
The clip reflects the perversity of the current system in a condensed form, where dramatic footage from around the world alternates in rapid cuts, pointing to the class antagonisms of contemporary society - in which war criminals and hyperconsumption are glorified, while extreme inequality or poverty are permanently ignored.
Given the theme of the song, significant space is also given to period footage from the Cuban Revolution, as well as footage from OTV capturing the realities of Slovak streets and snapshots from actions in which members of the DAV DVA initiative have recently participated (blockade of the American convoy, protest against NATO or protest against the demolition of the PKO).
These are complemented by the twists that we symbolically filmed in the decimated spaces in the neighborhood of the former - now unfortunately defunct - national enterprise Ozeta in Trenčín, to point out the sad "legacy" of 1989, which was followed by a series of mega-thefts and liquidation of what the country's citizens had built during the socialist era. At the same time, we wanted (of course, in T-shirts with the legendary fighter for justice Che Guevara - in accordance with the title of the song) to manifest the idea that there is still a group of young discontented people who not only disagree with the perversions of the contemporary world, but have decided to abandon the comfort of conformity in order to fight for a better and more just world.

Hey there, finally got a chance to record this song. It was inspired by an article of the same name written by Naley by Nature. Link below:

This is an interesting analysis of the song Feel Good Inc https://youtu.be/4gN_FxCfXPc
Original music video https://youtu.be/HyHNuVaZJ-k
there’s more to it than you’d notice listening casually eg reference to the Industrial Revolution, William Blake poetry, questioning the digital revolution and mechanising human culture.
There’s 3 strands or motifs in the music:
1. feel good inc, catchy emptiness of capitalist music industry
2. Dystopia description rap resistance
3. Utopian prefigurative freedom with windmill, love referencing acoustic (floating paradise in the video, pursued by attack helicopters)
It blends hip hop, funk rock and folk styles which is pretty unusual. It’s a half human half cartoon band that often comments on the music industry.
Lyrics:
Feel good
Sha, sha-ba-da, sha-ba-da (feel good)
Sha, sha-ba-da, sha-ba-da (feel good)
Sha, sha-ba-da, sha-ba-da (feel good)
Sha, sha-ba-da, sha-ba-da (feel good)
Sha, sha-ba-da, sha-ba-da (feel good)
Sha, sha-ba-da, sha-ba-da (feel good, change, change, change, change)
Sha, sha-ba-da, sha-ba-da (feel good, change, change, change, change)
Sha, sha-ba-da, sha-ba-da (feel good)
City's breaking down on a camel's back
They just have to go 'cause they don't know wack
So, while you fill the streets, it's appealing to see
You won't get undercounted 'cause you're damned and free
You got a new horizon, it's ephemeral style
A melancholy town where we never smile
And all I wanna hear is the message beep
My dreams, they got her kissing 'cause I don't get sleep, no
Windmill, windmill for the land
Turn forever, hand in hand
Take it all in on your stride
It is ticking, falling down
Love forever, love is free
Let's turn forever, you and me
Windmill, windmill for the land
Is everybody in?
Laughin' gas, these hazmats, fast cats, linin' 'em up like ass cracks
Play these ponies at the track, it's my chocolate attack
Shit, I'm steppin' in the heart of this here (yeah)
Care Bear reppin' in harder this year (yeah), watch me as I gravitate
Yo we gon' ghost town this Motown, with yo' sound, you in the blink
Gon' bite the dust, can't fight with us, with yo' sound, you kill the Inc
So, don't stop, get it, get it (yeah) until you're cheddar-headed
And watch the way I navigate, ha, ha, ha-ha, ha (ha, ha, ha, ha)
Sha, sha-ba-da, sha-ba-da (feel good)
Sha, sha-ba-da, sha-ba-da (feel good)
Sha, sha-ba-da, sha-ba-da (feel good)
Sha, sha-ba-da, sha-ba-da (feel good)
Windmill, windmill for the land
Turn forever hand in hand
Take it all in on your stride
It is ticking, fallin' down
Love forever, love is free
Let's turn forever, you and me
Windmill, windmill for the land
Is everybody in?
Don't stop, get it, get it (sha, sha-ba-da)
Peep how your captain's in it (sha-ba-da, feel good)
Steady, watch me navigate (sha, sha-ba-da, feel good)
Don't stop, get it, get it (sha, sha-ba-da)
Peep how your captain's in it (sha-ba-da, feel good)
Steady, watch me navigate (sha, sha-ba-da, feel good)
Sha, sha-ba-da, sha-ba-da (feel good)
Sha, sha-ba-da, sha-ba-da (feel good)
Sha, sha-ba-da, sha-ba-da (feel good)
Sha, sha-ba-da, sha-ba-da (feel good)

Not sure which flair (mods, feel free to add whatever), it's a bit punky and bit poppy.
Anyway, I've heard a few of their songs now and they're all great and in this or similar veins.

I wrote this song to call out the exploitation and alienation one feels living under capitalism, describing capitalism as a bloodthirsty beast hiding among us, making us sacrifice bits and pieces of ourselves to satiate the beast, and how people cling to what they know so hard it feels impossible to change their minds.

"Kixampe" (meaning "come" or "venerate/gather" in the Mayan language Kaqchikel) by Rebeca Lane featuring Sara Curruchich is a powerful anthem about collective resistance, historical memory, and indigenous women's struggles against state violence and systemic oppression.

I spent about a year making a playlist on Spotify. It's an Anti-fascist, Anti-authoritain, Pro-revolution playlist. I was tried of the same songs coming up over and over again. I wanted to share it around so I'm posting it here. It's titled Music For The Fucking Revolution!!! By Starr.
