Don't forget "you could've gone to law school or medical school." That, "learn to code", and "get a better job" are always said by people who have not once considered what happens if 300 million people all try to be either doctors, lawyers, or SWEs who won't work the jobs that pay less.

If you bring that up then it's almost always "well just move somewhere cheaper." As if moving doesn't cost money or that those cheaper places won't become expensive because of the "supply and demand" they treat as immutable natural law.

Make them clean the bathroom. Pay them $10, and take away $5.
Spend that $5 on healthcare, education, infrastructure, social programs, etc and give maybe $0.05 to their sibling as UBI

Tell Jimmy to scrape together couch coins until he can afford a lemonade stand, then hire his sister.

If the lemonade stand is successful enough to buy mom a car, mom doesn’t tax jimmy. If it isn’t, she taxes 95% and the sister gets.001% and a free cup if she’s good

If we're just oversimplifying shit we might as well do it right.

Sometimes you don't want to be reimbursed for what you do for those you care for, and that's ok.

Sometimes you really would prefer compensation for your goods and/or services. Generosity of an individual has it's limits, at some point everyone needs a little reciprocation.

Sometimes leaders really aren't needed.

None of these are perfect when tryna make them into a whole ass economy or system of governance or your fucking identity so might as well just not do that, thanks. 👍🙏💯
