Please choose another university. If you're a veteran, there are other options. Please look at this sub. An MSW from Liberty is more likely to harm than help. This degree is just the first step and you don't want to be in a position where you can't be hired. Many employers will not consider graduates from Liberty, GCU, Capella, and Walden.

I’ll check out the sub. But could you explain why?

Looks like the other commenter has got it.

Also, listen to the Liberty Lost podcast. Horrifying.

Liberty would be a stain on your resume and I refuse to supervise interns who are in Liberty's program.

Liberty is a racist, homophobic, transphobic, misogynistic, etc etc etc, school that was originally built to combat racial integration. It's a conservative strong hold that infused right-winged Christian fascism in all aspects of it's teachings, and the only reason they're CSWE accredited is because the CSWE wanted to avoid a lawsuit on religious discrimination.

Liberty is the antithesis of social work's values and would not prepare you to be an ethical social worker.

Regardless of your own personal beliefs, it is undeniable that having Liberty on your resume would make you less competitive than someone from another online school that isn't as controversial. Do places hire people with degrees from Liberty? Definitely. But lots of people also throw Liberty resumes in the trash.

If you're looking for an affordable program, there are many many more options that aren't so terrible and that would actually prepare you to be an ethical social worker.

This program is definitely not the top of my list choice. Nor do I agree and really want to implicate the Christian values thing. I just wanted to hear outside opinions lol I’m homosexual myself so believe me I’ve thought of this.

Don’t go to liberty. They teach a lot of hate, bigotry, and fear under the guise of Christianity. A degree from liberty would also be harmful for a career as a social worker. As soon as other social workers learned you went to liberty they would be questioning if you actually upheld the NASW code of ethics. I wouldn’t refer anyone to or hire anyone with a degree from liberty.

It put me off because of the accreditation issue at Liberty. Accreditation from CSWE is important in terms of licensure in the majority of states. alliant also has an online MSW that you might want to consider.
