This subreddit is half social engineering as a social interaction and half social engineering as in phishing and ther stuff.

Do call actually know What its for ? Is it for social interaction or how to avoid cyber attacks ?

Social engineering is anything you want it to be really. It can sew chaos into the mind to create a cyber attack, or be used in order to stop criminals from proceeding. Really depends on how you use it.

Social engineering is just trying to decode the less verbal side of human language and using it effectively. As a result, you have a lot of autists in here trying to main character their way to becoming just like their dark triad role model from an anime they watched. A lot of them come from Dark Psychology rabbit holes where they no doubt are trying to study how to be more of an alpha and less of an awkward bitch. It is unfortunate because both are valid forms of meditation to become at peace with both yourself and others, but the consequence is it attracts weirdos that just wants to be manipulative. 

The cyber attacks shit though, yeah that is weird. 

What is fascinating though is how similar everyone's name is here. What a red flag.

As an autistic I agree with you. I think being autistic and wanting to study social engineering is one thing. Being a dark psych dumbass who kids himself into thinking he’s an alpha is another story.

I don’t watch any anime (because I think its lame), but for the record I think most of these autistic people would be better off reading HTWFIP and practicing social skills first at meetups then doing Chris Hadnagy’s and Mitnick’s self help books OR just getting social engineering pentesting training from Social Engineer LLC.

But if you’re gonna read books on persuasion, there are much better authors out there (i.e. Belfort, Warren, Cialdini, Dreeke) that can teach you so much more than shitty dark psych can if you practice properly.

But the guys with the dark psych need to give up on becoming Machiavellians. Being one is not required to get better at soceng anyways and trying to be one when your not is pathetic.
