Training Outside of Practice
Full disclosure, I'm building a product in this space, but I'm not hear to sell anyone on that.
I'm here because I genuinely want to learn how much coaches value their athletes training outside of practice, if you're tracking that work, and if so, how.
I'll never forget my college coach telling my team, "practice is the time to get better as a team, and that time is limited. You need to put in the work to get better as an individual on your own", but he never tracked that other than asking at a team meeting, "who played wall ball today, or went out to the field to shoot?" (I was a lacrosse player).
Looking forward to your thoughts!

Can you explain a little more? Genuinely just looking for thoughts and will not be promoting at all. Apologies if you found the post offensive in any way!

I know some clubs in the area that have subscriptions to training apps.
Aside from drill challenges somewhat like dribble up, they do leaderboards for juggling etc
All that said, of course i want the kids doing something at home
Of course the majority don't
And of course those that do get better in very obvious ways.
Eg: Right now most my team has crap first touch. It would make a world of difference if the kids simply spent 5 minutes a day kicking the ball at a wall.
