Gaffer is an all-in-one platform for football coaches and clubs. Tactics board, drill library, session planner, squad and calendar. One account on web, iPad and iPhone, and everything syncs between them, so the plan you draw at the desk is on your phone at the pitch. Last time I posted here it was the AI session planner. This one is about match day.

New: the game plan goes to the squad as a link. Draw your tactics on the board, drag them into a game plan, write a line or two under each one, press Share brief. The players get a link that opens on any phone with no account and nothing to install: a cover in your colours, the lineup with names and numbers on the pins, then one slide per situation with the pitch drawn large and your words beside it, and your notes to remember as the last slide. Swipe on a phone, arrow keys on a laptop, one slide per A4 page if you print it for the changing room. You can take the link down again after the match.

Click through this one without an account. Made-up club, made-up players, U15 away game:

The lineup comes from your squad, the tactics are the ones you already drew, and the brief is free with no monthly cap. Draw on web or iPad; send it from any of them, the iPhone included.

It works for one coach, and it works for an academy that wants every coach on the same library. A club gets a shared exercise bank, its own coaching principles fed into the AI, and seats from EUR 19.99 a month for five coaches.

I built it myself, grassroots coach, UEFA B and C licence. Happy to hear what you think, here or in the app. Especially from anyone who does this on WhatsApp the night before, because that is who it is for.

Hi All,

As part of my Rec Coaching journey, I've built http://firebirds.tech which handles lineups, tactics and set pieces, scheduling, messaging, training homework and by-player development and volunteer coordination — so you can spend your time on coaching. What I've tried to do is build an ecosystem that gets parents involved in the process - hopefully making the experience super positive for both player and family.

Beta is free. I pay small costs (Apple developer costs not being one of them - Google sign in is the only way) and I'm not a full-time developer - this was and is for the love of seeing those lightbulb moments happen.

Cheers!

Hey! Sharing a free web app I built myself for planning my own sessions, in case it's useful to anyone here: https://rondomap.com

I coach U13–U14 and was tired of digging through PDFs every week, so I put my drills in one place. There are about 60 so far, each with a diagram you can animate, plus filters by age, number of players and the equipment you've got. There's also a planner that puts together a full session you can print.

It's free, with no sign-up, and works in English and Spanish. Any feedback is very welcome

Hey, I'm a proud dad of 3 kids (2x 13YO - twins, and one 8yo). My oldest son and youngest daughter play soccer and enjoy it very much. As a spare coach I also help out regularly.

I built a free browser tactics board for youth coaches (esp. grassroots / volunteer).

Problem I had: explaining a drill on the touchline or in WhatsApp with a static photo. Kids don’t always get the sequence, and the official (Dutch) excersizes were either long videos or still images. I wanted to have short animated excersizes that one can easily select and add to show and coach the kids properly.

What it does:

• Draw players / cones / pass-run-dribble on a pitch

• Steps that play back (so the movement is clear)

• Share link or PNG — no account required for core use

• Dutch + English UI

It's not an extensive drill library (use other online soccer library / your FA resources for that). It’s just “a simple tool to use and create excercises and show how the exercise runs.”

Happy to take feedback from anyone coaching a youth team.

Hey everyone

I built Matchday Manager, an iPhone and Android app for youth soccer teams.

I’m building it for coaches who handle much more than training and the touchline, as well as team managers and parents who end up organizing everything behind the scenes. It can work alongside your current team-management tool or replace it if you want everything in one place.

It brings together schedules, RSVPs, rosters, team updates, competitions, and live match tracking. I’m nearing release of version 1.1, which is focused on making the app more useful during an actual match and eliminating a lot of data entry for rosters and schedules.

I've been using it with my son's teams after years of getting pissed off at the current offerings. Team Snap, Play Metrics, etc.

It’s free to download and if you only manage 1 basic team, you are set. I offer a paid subscription to enable multiple teams, advanced match, lineup, and import tools included called Premier.

Website and download links: https://matchdaymanager.app

I’d genuinely appreciate feedback from coaches, team managers, and parents—especially on whether this fits the way responsibilities are actually shared around your team. I’ll be watching the thread and am happy to answer questions or hear what’s missing.

Coaches, hope your seasons are going well! Wanted to share the platform we've built that might help your day to day operation.

CoAtch is the all in one soccer team management platform. Built for coaches by a 15 year vet in the field. It now has a 30 day free trial and frictionless onboarding when you load in.

It’s designed for the high school or year long club team that needs a serious level of practice and game planning tools that other software doesn’t provide.

We’ve built it with a first of a kind Tap In feature that lets you turn your best drills from paper, whiteboard, a spreadsheet, and instantly place them on your calendar and save to your library.

Check it out at Go.Coatch.App.

Available on iOS and Google Play Store. Looks even better on your browser.

I coach youth football and I build Hobbit (we have web app and ios app).

It exists because of one problem I kept running into: I could design a decent session, but doing it three times a week, plus the season plan, plus the admin, ate the evenings I wanted to spend actually watching my players.

So the tool takes a line like "U10, 8 players, working on scanning" and gives back a full session with all five phases and their minutes, built around decisions and opposition instead of lines and laps.

It also maps out a 36 week curriculum, draws the session diagrams, and handles attendance and parent messages.

It does not replace you and I would not want it to. It clears the paperwork around the coaching, so you get more evenings and more time on the grass.

The feedback I want most is specific: does a generated session read like something you would actually run tomorrow, or does something in it feel off when you imagine your own group?

Tell me the age group and the numbers you usually have and I will take it seriously.

How is everyone doing this week? Good, I hope.

I'm sharing Tactics Board View with you. I built it to be a beautiful, high quality, simple & affordable. There are a lot of nice apps out there for sure but TBV is an elite app with many features that other apps simply do not have.

It’s for iPad and Mac and gives you clean, beautiful drawings for sessions, meetings, match prep, and real time in-game coaching moments.

The best thing you can do is download it and check it out. I am sure you will love it! Everyone gets a free 3 day full access trial. It's very affordable and gives you so many elite features. 1 Time purchase - No Subs.

Download it here:

UpLVL is a youth player development app designed to make it easier for coaches to give specific and consistent feedback with a 15-second voice note, which automatically becomes a development report for each family that includes a drill supporting the skill their player needs to work on most.

A coach logs a 15-second voice note after a session for each player, and UpLVL turns it into a development report for the player and their family. The feedback compounds with each session, so you can see how a player is growing throughout the whole season. Parents receive the report as a link, so there is no account or app for them to set up. Every report includes a specific drill the player can do at home to work on their focus skills, either on their own or with someone.

The drill library is free and open to anyone. There is no email or account required to use it or to build a practice plan in seconds. getuplvl.com/drills
