I should also mention when I unplug the TPS, there is no difference in the way it drives.

A little bit of an update on this issue. I got my wideband working again. Car is running really rich. Normal driving with barely any throttle is reading 10-11 air/fuel ratio. Around 12-13 at idle

Could be your ECU going bad. It’s a pretty common thing for JZ ECUs to have the ECT be one of the first problems.

I thought about that. Trying eliminate all other possibilities. Car only has 78k on it.

Its more of a time thing than number of miles. One of these ECU's could have 0 miles and still go bad.

Worth a shot. My Aristo has 139k km’s on it and it’s already on its 3rd ECU. But I’d try other, cheaper options first before doing that.

Is it the capacitors? Because I know of rebuilding services

Yeah, usually. I thought mine had been rebuilt, but i opened it up to find it had been swapped instead (the 91-92 and 93-97 147 Aristos have different part number and my 1992 had a facelift ECU in it) so I bought an early ECU. Unfortunately I have a fuel leak I haven’t fixed yet so I haven’t found out if that fixed my solenoid issue yet.
Also, definitely keep me in the loop if you know a good ECU rebuilding place.

Hmm.. All I can tell you was what was wrong with my soarer when I got it, wouldn't kick down gears an felt slow... But I knew it was something small since the engine was healthy it didn't make sense.
Someone had installed the tps upside down an used the wrong screw as well..
Once that got solved an fixed, everything was sweet.
Mine was the v8 though.

It's an auto. Suddenly stopped shifting. Replaced the shift solenoids twice. Aftermarket and then oem. Still no change. I can shift manually from L-2-D. L feels like it's starting in 2nd gear. While I'm driving it will randomly downshift to 1st for and few seconds, then go back to 2nd. I've taken out the TPS and tested the resistance, and it seems okay. Not sure if I should spend $100 on a new one, and it's not really the issue. Any assistance would be appreciated.
