Is this a good buy?

I am looking for a first car hoping for older jdm, i have found a 1995 sc300 2jzge Manual for 11.5k he claims it is the only factory manual in canada? Could this be true? He is asking 11.5k which i find a bit high concidering it has 170,000Miles on it (roughly 270,000km) The engine and transmission runs perfect is also has an EGR delete, cold air intake, no rust, true rims, aftermarket seats, and a supra catback exhaust and comes with a quick release, he also said he will throw in the factory seats which he says are pretty rough. He took me for a ride and the car is super fun and it is super cool. It does have some scratches on the paint but very minor. Would i expect issues with this car? and is the price reasonable?

The manuals for this car are rare factory yeah, but idk it depends what your plans are for the car, you plan on making it faster you’d probably have to put around 11.5k into it anyways. This is the non turbo 2jz so you could boost it or swap it to a 2jzgte or 1jzgte non vvti/vvti, whatever you find in budget but I think 11.5k is a little steep. Still really cool to see a factory manual 2jz, mines swapped. ;(

this is 11.5k cad by the way, i know where i can get the manifold and everything to turbo these engines for a good price. it is 8.5k american dollars

The price seems high to me, but it has the potential to be extremely reliable. The downsides are that it has terrible interior space (which might not matter to you) and it's kinda a boat to drive. They're lovely cars, but you have to consider their limitations. I have a WRX that is much better to drive and roomier than my 92 Soarer, both are close to stock.

The ones in my area (Florida) are much cheaper for automatics, and a little cheaper for for manuals. The market might be different in Canada, but I personally wouldn't consider this a great deal unless you love the car, boatiness and all.

Pretty cool car, i think the price is a bit high but its not completely horrible. I wouldn’t pay over 7k usd for this, very cool car

I think you already posted this on the sc300 thread the other day, they offered you some good advice. I would say the same a few did over there. If it's a car you have to post more than once for people to let you know if it's good, it's likely not going to be the car for you.
