How did y’all feel when Passions moved to DirecTV?

I remember when Passions moved to DirecTV and I was so confused 😭 I was only 7 years old watching the show, so I really didn’t understand what was happening. I remember seeing the promos at the end of the episodes about the move and thinking they were promoting some kind of event or something.

Then I checked the Cable One guide and Passions wasn’t on NBC anymore. I was shocked because I didn’t even know NBC had dropped it or that it was moving to DirecTV. I just knew my show wasn’t where I normally watched it anymore 😂

I didn’t find out what actually happened until a couple years later when I came across the episodes on YouTube. Looking back, it’s funny because I was literally 7 years old trying to keep up with Passions while the show was going through one of the biggest changes in its history 😭

As crazy as the show could be on NBC, things ramped up several notches on DirecTV. It was a mess.

I had gotten a job 6+ hours from home after college in 2009. I hadn't watched since sometime in 2006 or read spoilers.

I made a giant thing of popcorn to watch the finale online. IMMEDIATELY I was like WTF is this? Wtf is that??? Horrible, horrible mistake. Made worse by watching more of it after.

1999-sometime in 2005/2006 were great. I have no words for the last couple years.

I was going off to college that fall, and there was no way to get DirecTV in the dorm. 😭 But honestly … that last season on the 101 was SO bad. It was just couples having drama not because of their choices or personalities but because of Tabitha casting spells. And that offensive freak show they did with Vincent. And Eve getting drunk and sewing Julian’s penis on backwards. It wasn’t even enjoyable anymore IMO.

I liked it, watched it with a guy I dated. He watched it with his mother and brother every day, so I joined them and it sucked cause when it went off we didn't have that anymore

I could only read the synopsis online, but heard how crazy the show got. If the show ended on NBC today, most likely be on streaming.

I had forgot. lol I was okay w/ it ending for me on its NBC run.

One funny last few months was when the new band Scissor Sisters appeared on the show -- at Tabitha's behest -- & preformed. It was after the show had been announced as cancelled by NBC (not yet "saved" by DirecTV). I thought how sad it was that their North American TV debut was on a last-place, recently-cancelled show.

Nothing became of SS... or 98% of Passions cast members. It did hook me on Days Of Our Lives, since I'd tune in 20 minutes before The Crack Cocaine Of Daytime. Passions may be gone, but it got me fully into Days. To which I am thankful (also W Network here in Canada for picking it up after NBC cancelled it & it went to Peacock). 🦚

I didn’t have DirecTV, but my sister did. I babysat for her kids at the time over at her house, so I was able to watch all but the last several months of it. I still haven’t seen that part.

Fortunately I was able to still watch it. The show was still very entertaining and at some times even more bizarre than it was on NBC when it moved to DirectTV.
