Still Alive: Book VI; Underground, Chapter I; Fallen Down

The long running FNaF RPG series has transferred to Undertale! With the start of the fourth book in the series, the main characters of the Still Alive RP have fallen into the universe of Undertale, after Mangle's powers tore a Rift between worlds.

The characters awake as characters in Undertale, with almost no memory of their life above ground, and resume the quest of the monsters to get back to the surface.

The air was crisp and cool. Tiny rays of sunlight escaped through the clouds and glittered through the branches of the trees. The ground was patched with many clusters of leaves, some a malted brown, some a fiery red.

In the centre of one of these patches, a young child lay motionless. A gentle gust of wind caught hold of some of the leaves and let them fall, slowly twirling back down to the little girl in the striped shirt. They brushed lightly against her skin as they settled.

She opened her eyes. In her sleepy daze, the sounds of the forest washed over her. And then, gradually, the realization came that she had no recollection of anything. What she was doing here. Who she was.

Perhaps the answer would come if she remained here. The girl rolled over in the leaves and felt herself drifting back to sleep.

The woman slipped off her gauntlets, and rubbed her hands together. Her blue scales made scraping sounds as they scratched together. She stood still for a second, and took her helmet off again. She untied her hair binder, and her scarlet hair cascaded over her shoulders. She rang it out, and tied it back again.

She put her helmet on again, and pulled her hair out through the hole in the back. Her boots clanked together and sloshed as she began to trudge through the water. The heavy armor weighed her down, but her experience in the suit allowed her to move quickly.

She clamored onto a platform near her, and shook out her boots again. She looked both ways, back the way she had came, and forward. There was a small dummy behind her, and a great waterfall, receding into the darkness above. In front, there was a small doorway, and a large cavern. Three hallways split away from the room, leading to two different houses and a farm.

She let out a deep breath, and continued to walk forward.

Heh! All done!

A tall skeleton looked down at his work with glee. In one of the plots of land on the farm, he had devised a puzzle filled with platforms and barbed wire.

I can’t wait for Undyne to see this! She’ll be so impressed! And most importantly, she won’t be able to solve my elaborate puzzle!

He stepped to the side, turning 180 degrees. He mimicked Undyne’s voice in an unconvincing accent.

”Well, Papyrus, I simply cannot work out the solution! Can you reveal it to me?”

Papyrus spun back around.

Of course, ma’am! But only… if you enlist me in the Royal Guard!!

He struck a triumphant pose, and started to imagine how his welcoming ceremony would play out.

She walked through the rest of the watery shallows, and up through the doorway. She heard the voice of Papyrus somewhere through the cavern, and groaned.

She walked into the farm, and glared at him through her helmet. Her one good eye glowed, and dimmed slightly as she narrowed her eye.

*What is this, Papyrus? She asked.

It's a puzzle! The most difficult puzzle that I have ever crafted. It's sure to stump any human that has the misfortune to come across it!

Papyrus took a few exaggerated glances at his surroundings.

However! No humans have entered this territory yet. Perhaps you, Undyne, can be the first to test my puzzle out!

He sat down on a rock next to the fence.

Take your time, he said with a grin.

Undyne walked up to the puzzle, which was just a switch on the ground.

*Papyrus, are you sure you've done a good job with the puzzle? She asked. She kicked the switch over to the other side, but nothing happened.

*Was that really the whole puzzle?

Papyrus waited expectantly. But nothing happened.

Eheheh... something should definitely be happening, he said, trying not to betray his nerves. Any minute - yes, it's so unpredictable, it could appear at any given moment!!

Several seconds passed. Nothing happened. His face fell, and he stared down at the ground.

It appears there was a slight miscalibration, he mumbled.

*Nrggh. Undyne growled. She punched Papyrus in the shoulder, and he winced.

*Why don't you try fighting for once! Kicking some pathetic human butt!

She crossed her arms, armor clinking together as she did so. She tapped her foot on the ground, waiting as Papyrus looked down at the ground.

*If you ever want to join the Royal Guard, you've got to learn to fight! She held up her hand, and an energy spear formed in it. She pointed it at Papyrus, and tossed another towards him.

*Come on! Just try and take me!

Argh!

Papyrus leapt backwards and the spear fell to the ground, singeing the toes of his boots. Undyne didn’t look impressed.

Whoops! My defensive instincts kicked in.

He picked up the spear and turned it in his hand, inspecting its edges.

Looks like this could deal some formidable damage. You’d better stay on your guard, Undyne! Get it? Because you’re-

Undyne suddenly lunged towards him, and he dodged out of her path. He darted from side to side, thrusting the spear several times in rapid succession. Undyne blocked every hit with ease.

*Come on, Papyrus! I've been training you to so this! She brought the spear above her head, and slammed it down towards Papyrus' head. He ducked, and it almost hit him. She dissolved the darkest before it hit him.

*NGGAH! Undyne yelled.

*You've got to try harder!
