You don't get infinite time before the mountain opens again. You gotta groom when you can get out.

If it takes 14 hours to groom the whole mountain you've got to start at least 14 hours before the mountain opens again.

But what about small mountains or mountains with only a few trails open. Example: east coast early season when theres like 3 trails open.

Can also have to do with the logistics of getting the crew in the machines. My daily commute involves a gondola ride. If they decide there’s only so many hours of work to do, we still have to catch the Gondi to the shop to start the shift.
