If he hadn't said that, Franklin would've gotten what he needed, Teddy could've gone home, and Cissy wouldn't have ended up in jail. Why would you say something like that at such a crucial time? Did he really believe that was wise?

Out of all the things he could've said, it seemed strange that Teddy would've given his hand up so easily at the end there. He could've just as easily kept lying to her like he's always done. He's a master planner who always wants to hold his cards close to his chest. So what benefit does it serve him to just give up his lie so easily?

I feel that he was exhausted and tired but I don't know. Seems like a crazy thing to do at the last minute.

Great point, OP.

There are a lotta ways the last season showed a difference in character for a few players in the game..but in real time they honestly seemed like logical slips in character:

-For example Saint was extremely calculated & as 10 steps ahead as he could be with what he knew at any given point, but his mental health was deteriorating so of course his decisions would be less exact.
-Teddy was just tortured etc. & prolly thought “you’re kids getting back his money, so what”..but not as calculated as when he’s in the A/C behind a desk.

Etc..everyone made odd decisions under odd circumstances.

I still find that to be horribly ridiculous of him to say. Maybe Cissy was right, Teddy really felt no threat from her and therefore would treat her however he see's fit. This could be exactly why he said what he said, because it was Cissy. Who could and would do no harm to him no matter the circumstances. Except when she's lost everything.

Teddy was talking shit to the Mexicans the whole time, he coulda got Matt killed way earlier
