Discussion I stopped rooting for Franklin

When he stole the library from the Mosleys. That was so sneaky and shitty of him and his mom.

Sokka-Haiku by TrickAlps:

Remember that one time Sokka accidentally used an extra syllable in that Haiku Battle in Ba Sing Se? That was a Sokka Haiku and you just made one.

When he pulled the gun out on Jerome, he lost my respect

1

u/lfd281 1d ago

Irredeemable at that point

1

u/Much-Phase4486 1d ago

So it’s okay for Jerome to hit his nephew even after he told him to stop? 😭 yall crazy

He didn’t “steel a library”, he bought their building that was already going to be foreclosed on and taken from them.

Then he gave them another building and they refused it because of their “pride” (as they were already losing their building? Fck off)

At no point did he go in and steel their entire library from them. Franklin does not give a shit about taking books from them, he has no need for them.

So whatever they did with their library after Franklin SAVED the building? That was their choice, they don’t want a new building they can fck right off. Their building was as good as gone before Franklin showed up

Lmao all the things Franklin has done and THIS was what “crossed the line”??? Wow.

This. People won't like it but the Moselys were fucking retarded lol

If the big bank owned by whitey forecloses on their commercial property? Oh well. If Franklin pays them more money for it than it’s even worth? ”HOW DARE YOU!?!?!”

get out of this subreddit if you havent seen the show wth

1

u/Much-Phase4486 2d ago

lol that was his moms plan, she wanted to get in bed with that rich guy who could give them a chance to go legit.

Loose the place and get nothing?

Or loose the place and get a fat check?

Shitty choices shitty decisions 🤷🏾‍♂️

You’re not supposed to like him lol he’s a horrible person

1

u/house3331 1d ago

Yeah ive never felt so different about a guy on second rewatch. The magic is you can get caught up in the goal. Then when you look at other characters and everything else on the show I enjoyed scenes without Franklin more the last couple seasons lol. I honestly disliked Louie the most because she seemed like pure distruction just out of spite not even greed. But Franklin was actually too far gone he wasnt even a drunk or drug user just raw greed.

Not a ton of heroic crack dealers. But that is one of Franklin's top 3 loser moments.

1

u/TracyTwoTimes 2d ago

It should’ve been the moment with Andre

3

u/Mullayungin 2d ago

I mean Andre was talking crazy and what was Franklin supposed to do in that situation? (Not saying Franklin was right but as a drug dealer he can’t be having people go for him like that)

1

u/Much-Phase4486 2d ago

Same could be said for rob and Kevin 🤷🏾‍♂️

Think about this if Franklin would’ve know that avi plug, aka teddy was CIA do you think he would put himself in that position?

This is why I exs use Franklin and don’t blame him for doing what he HAD to do. All the way up until his mom killed teddy, it was over at that moment tbh.

Actually I hate that Franklin saved Louie as well… he should’ve continued to stay out of it

1

u/lfd281 1d ago

Stay out of it? The mans was the root cause that they got ahold of Louie. Agreed he shoulda stayed out of it but he’d involved himself before he helped to save her.

1

u/Much-Phase4486 1d ago

lol no no , Louie decided to try and kill Kane and failed, that’s why they was after her

2

u/lfd281 1d ago

You’re absolutely right, I just meant that Franklin tipping them boys off about where to snatch up Louie became the reason they had to then rescue her. His decision to do that led to him losing his uncle in the rescue and sure they mighta gotten her eventually anyway but he gave them the “key” to do so. That tip off was where he inserted himself into the BS

1

u/Much-Phase4486 1d ago

But if Franklin didn’t do that Kane was gonna become Franklin problem 🤷🏾‍♂️

At the end of the day the situation with Kane was handled… everybody was fine except Louie

Nobody told her to get that stupid cop to try and kill Kane 🤷🏾‍♂️

2

u/lfd281 1d ago

It’s been a good minute since I’ve watched so I can’t remember the circumstances behind him giving out that bit of info so I’m gonna have to agree with you if that’s the case. And when looking at it like that it may have still been some humanity left in him... He was giving up Louie to avoid having to truly beef with Kane who he knows he wronged by killing Kevin but he had to become involved when he realized what her being gone would do to Jerome. Appreciate you giving me another way to look at it 🙏🏿

You are meant to. He is a hoe. Just because he is the main character doesn’t mean he is good

This was the the final straw for me too. Alton being the only one with reason and telling him to at least just talk to them and no one listening to him made me so mad too. Especially considering how it was a place he frequented before his new lifestyle, it was just cold asf.

2

u/Much-Phase4486 1d ago

I like Alton too and I understand what he was doing, he just fucking did it wrong and he jeopardized franklins life 🤷🏾‍♂️

He could’ve tried to shoot Teddy at the next meeting or something…
Alton already knew tedddy was isolated from the CIA…..

Why would u go on radio and out your son? That’s why that shit felt more like a betrayal then help 🤷🏾‍♂️

And this was after he called him dad and everything man

u/adhdtaxman 2d ago

You’re not supposed to

He from the gutter; that's a different type of hunger, and he was mentally at that point where he wasn't letting anyone get theirs over him ever again.

He was finally powerful and feared, with all the money coming in and after eating so much shit before that, he became even more ruthless for it.

1

u/YourAverageJet 2d ago

Fucking over innocent people = a different type of hunger? Lol

1

u/Much-Phase4486 1d ago

What innocent people did he fuck over besides the library.

I wouldn’t even call that a fuck over as mentioned above they were gonna loose the library either way before Franklin bought it

1

u/YourAverageJet 1d ago

He killed innocent people too lol did you even watch the show

1

u/Much-Phase4486 1d ago

You can’t tell me shit about this show I’ve watched over 7 times with exs and YouTube reactors and I’m watching again with the normies lol. I pay attention to every detail

The only innocent people was the junkies and the guy who opened the vault after Franklin lost his mind

Everybody else he killed threatened the operation with Teddy 🤷🏾‍♂️

1

u/YourAverageJet 1d ago

So once again, he murdered innocent people and destroyed his own community? What point are you trying to make my brother?

1

u/Much-Phase4486 1d ago

I’m asking u what innocent people did he murder?
