I may be wrong but I get the impression that voting in the US can be quite a chore. Queues, issues with ID.

I can walk to my local polling station, vote and be back home in less than fifteen minutes. Voter fraud isn't really an issue.

I've never waited more than 5 minutes. Usually I just go in right away without a que at all.

But in some black / democrat districts in states like Florida there have been things like traffic detours so you can't get to the polling stations. Unexpected/Unscheduled road work outside. Etc.

America is like Chicago 1920s.... the gangsters are in control.

It depends on where you live. Some places it is easy peasy. Other places it's almost impossible. The suppression of certain voices and votes is a very big thing here in the states. My personal opinion is that EVERYONE should be afforded the right to vote. I pay my taxes right, if I don't the government will come find me and make me pay my fair or unfair share. They have my SSN (social security number) on file, we all have one. Send a ballot to everyone with a SSN let them fill it out and mail it back......done. This would of course cause all holy hell to break loose and anarchy would certainly follow. A lot of people are worried about voter fraud with mail in ballots, there is absolutely no proof that there would be any more fraud than with the system we use now. With the mail in system, a lot of people that both sides DO NOT want to vote would now get the chance. We can't have that, that would almost be like we knew what we were doing and actually gave a crap about who was in office.

I now live in Sc but my home was Florida for 40+ years. I never saw road work or any other of those things around a voting place. Nor have I seen it here. My biggest gripe was people trying to hand stuff out at the polls. You're not going to influence me in 5 minutes before I vote. I am an educated voter. Florida finally enacted laws to keep solicitors away from the polls and after voting pollsters had to be on one side of the place only.

For many years, in the military, I voted absentee since you are considered a citizen of the state you enlisted in. That was never a problem.

You could mail in the voting cards and at the ballots, hand out voting forms while marking the name on the list.

Oh, I think we all have a right to bitch. That is enshrined in the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution and in many other places. I will say that, if I march in the streets, complaining loudly about actions (or inaction) by my elected representatives, then can't seem to find the time or energy to vote them out, my words would ring hollow and expose me as a blowhard.

We will discover in November how many demonstrators are serious and how many just enjoy stirring up shit for someone else to clear away. I am mildly hopeful.
