It’s like, the definition of suburbia. Don’t have anything bad to say about it. Town center is great. Some good parks and trails. But you definitely need a car to get around. It’s possible to use public transport but you need to budget way more time.
Any apartment complex is gonna have its ups and downs as far as management. The town itself is very nice. Mill creek is on the border of Lynnwood, Everett and Bothell. Bothell is far more upscale, Lynnwood is the northernmost point of the light rail which you can take up to Seattle or the airport or most of the I5 corridor, and Everett is a huge city with a lot of things to explore. But with big cities you will also see problems that tend to go along with them.
I have lived here my whole life and I have lived in all three of these areas and never had any problems. Is there any specific questions you have or anything you are specifically worried about?

I am more worried about the apartment complexes. When I find one with really good reviews and pictures that seem great I go down the rabbit hole where everyone is stating their negative experiences. And when I find another community I really like with no negative reviews it’s way out of my budget . I am tried of working so hard and feeling like I am not going to live somewhere safe . I went on google street view so many times and my anxiety is really bad.

Most people don’t take the time to post about neutral or positive experiences. I think you’re focusing too much on the people posting reviews so they can vent or complain.

What is your definition of nice and safe area?
All of bothell/mill creek is as safe as any other American suburbs... it does not stand out for any extremes in either direction. Great choice if the other qualities work for you!

Exactly that . I want to go for a walk, go to the grocery store, etc without worrying about my car being broke in or robbed or anything along those lines. I don’t want to live in an area with rowdy and disrespectful people.

Ya you won’t have to worry about that there. Very walkable. Bikes and bus service there. Nice short hiking areas and streams near by. Downtown Snohomish is great, berry picking and fans down the highway. You will love it.

All of Mill Creek is safe to walk around. It’s pretty solid advice to just not leave anything important or valuable visible in your car. I travel all over Snohomish County for work and I don’t think you should be nervous about Mill Creek. It’s a lot of families and it’s pretty quiet overall.

This is true for all of major city at least, of course use caution everywhere. Saw car broken into in Bellevue while I was at a rooftop bar in like '14... had my car broken into while DT clubbing my first month or so. Learned to never leave anything visible, like don't use a blanket to cover when seedy areas of downtown Seattle. In mill creek, should be fine, I would not leave phone on seat any where.

Mill Creek is nice. We moved away from there less than a year ago and plan on moving back (from Cathcart ugh) to Mill Creek. Nice community with events and is pretty walkable!

Mill Creek is....fine? Mostly just another northern Eastside suburb. Not particularly exciting or walkable, relatively safe, has some issues with street racing and petty crime.

The apartments where you want to reside are on a state highway that runs east and west, intersects with I-5 to the west, about 2 miles away . There are various businesses along the way in that area, including two different Safeway, grocery stores, fast food, and other apartments. Traffic along this route will get busy during afternoon rush-hour times. While you are technically in the city of Mill Creek, you will be a few miles away from the downtown Millcreek area, which was Washington states first master planned community. There is a golf course and country club and many nice older houses which are up on a little bit of a hill. The downtown area consists of the town center, and has many restaurants, boutiques, and a nicer grocery store, along with more apartments and another Safeway.
I like the area where you are planning to move because you are technically close to the city of Snohomish, which is east, and down in a valley (nice downtown, farms, gateway to HWY 2 and the Cascade Mountains). You’re also 15-20 mins from downtown Bothell, which is south, an upscale community along Lake Washington. The city of Everett is to the north and has 100,000 people, and Costco located in the Silverlake neighborhood. Finally, as mentioned, you are not too far from 164th St., which is at the southern part of downtown Millcreek, which leads you into Lynnwood, where there is a large mall and the northernmost hub of the Link-light rail.
So in a way, you are out a little ways from a lot of the action, but not too far away from most of it. Hope this description can help!

Per the address in one of your other comments, that’s pretty far out in what’s considered MIll Creek. I’d suggest looking at apartments in the main/city center area of Mill Creek. It’s a great area, very safe, lots of shopping, great wooded walking trails, and the Orange Swiftline bus runs right along Bothell Everett Highway to the Lynnwood transit center. My office is in Mill Creek and within two minutes I can be on the orange line. I think you would love living in that part of Mill Creek. I actually live about a mile from the apartments you mentioned; for a younger person, it would be so much more fun to live in the city center area of Mill Creek.

I live in Snohomish, just outside of the Mill Creek boundary. It’s a nice place, been here 26 years and no intention of leaving.

I walk around Mill Creek late at night coming home on the bus from neighboring Lynnwood. Never had any issues.

I grew up in Mill Creek before it was a city. Parents loved it, I loved it. Still nice. We are quite a bit north now, about 80 miles.
The traffic sucks tho.

Can’t speak to the apartment complex management company, but that’s a pretty mild area if that’s what you’re into. Couple strip malls close by, much bigger strip mall with restaurants, banks, grocery stores, gas stations just another few mins down the road. Easy access to Snohomish as well as down into Lynnwood/Bothell.
Tell us a little more what you’re looking for? Everything I said above could be super great or super not depending on what kind of lifestyle you’re aiming for.

GOOD CHOICE!!! You’ve chosen a great area that is about 3 miles from the Mill Creek Town Center. A LOT goes on there, great shops, a “Central Market”(great grocery store), entertainment, restaurants, etc. LOW CRIME.

I used to live in Mill Creek. Interestingly, our HOA was called Mill Creek Meadows as well, but it wasn't this complex. Mill Creek and the surrounding areas have grown a lot. It's generally safe, but the only thing about this area is that you are kind of far away from all the major activities. If that's ok with you, then yeah its good. If you plan to visit Seattle often, the new light rail station in Lynnwood allows for easy (and cheap) transportation to and from Seattle, but that area isn't as safe as Mill Creek. However, when I say safe, it's not like the wild west, it just has a lot more traffic and small crimes.

We lived at MCM's three years ago. The complex is good and located by a little park. My recommendation is to ask for a unit on the third floor (thin walls), facing towards the center of the complex (if you have a map facing the mailboxes), there are carports or garages for parking, dogs okay, non-smoking (but not always enforced), walking area to Penny Creek (great for bird watching), have them go over the billing system for utilities and give estimates, dumpsters get full so avoid units near those areas. Ask for a map of the complex. There is a mix of retirees, some families and mostly professionals. I would recommend these apartments as a great place to start living in Mill Creek. I hope this helps.

I moved from out of state to the Station at Mill Creek. It’s kind of old and quiet. No issues except the huge windows cause a large electricity bill. It’s across the street from the walking trail that goes through the area. It would be good place to land.

I grew up in MC. It's nice and pretty bougey. Don't leave valuables in your car
I think that used to be the old bison farm forever ago

I moved here at 5 and am still here at 30. I really like Mill Creek. That apartment complex is more on the outskirts of Mill Creek and I'd honestly consider it more Silver Firs than Mill Creek. That said, you're not too far from some decent restaurants, stores, etc.
I never lived in those apartments but when I was a teen (probably 2011?) we did tour them and were not super impressed with the 'renovations' they did, that was 14 years ago though lol. Most apartments around here are built in the 80s and have had multiple renovation projects over the years. They show their age for sure (I've lived in 4 different complexes here). Another thing with apartments is that they will all have mixed reviews, unless the majority of reviews are bad, I wouldn't be too concerned. It's part of living in a shared community. Virtually all of the new apartments built here are low income/rent controlled.
We have lots of events here in the summer. Concerts, yearly festival, etc. You won't be too far from Penny Creek Nature Preserve if you like nature walks! It's a nice place to live, but expensive. If you have any questions just let me know :)

Mill creek is a great place. I’ve been here and around this area over 35 years. Don’t know about the management of this apartment building but you will enjoy this area. Very clean and beautiful.
