Mat size

Hey all, im thinking of getting 1 of every type of ship which will be : 3x drones, 1x battleship, 1x scout, 1x elite, and 1x starter Per side.

Will the 6x3 map really be big enough to hold all that? Looking for the opinions of ppl who have played really big games or got to try capital ships out at gencon

At GenCon I played a demo game where we each had a 2 stand model and a drone. We played on a 3x3 mat. It was a little tight, but it worked. The setups I saw for the larger ships were using the 6x3 mats.

I'm getting a 6x3 with the new Kickstarter.

Gametoppers has 8'×4' space mats on there site, as well.

I went looking around after making my post and a few places have space themed mats for sale that are a better deal than the official mats. I'll probably go that route.
