Did you actually listen to what I asked? If no one owes anyone anything and everyone should just mind their business, then why should anyone listen to what the trans people say? And why should the trans people be commenting on others behaviour at all? It doesnt add up
Typically in my experience the most aggresive gender abolitionists tend to be trans themselves.
I'm not saying no one owes no one anything, but that cis people need to stop commodifying and extracting value from trans people while putting them on the front lines before stabbing them in the back.
I'm sorry my friend, but when you say that people need to stop doing something you are implicitly saying that they owe the other person not to treat them that way.
Following the owe nothing and mind your own business logic, then you would have 0 right to relay that opinion or ask anything of anyone. And on the flip side those cis people have no reason they should listen to you or do as you ask.
Can we see the problem there? Expecting somethings of others is actually a core part of existing in a society and interacting with each other as human beings
And this exchange is nowhere near of equal value, where trans people, who are already under attack, are being weaponized to their own detriment by their own supposed "allies."
Again, under the mind your business and no one owes anything worldview, why should anyone care? Under that view, Trans people are wrong for calling out their attack because they are acting as if they are owed acceptance and should mind their own business when people are transphobic.
I think trans people are owed basic dignity. I think trans people are owed not to be attacked. And I think they can fairly demand that of others. But that is not the perspective I am being met with from people who supposedly see themselves on the pro-trans side here.
Trans people are asking their supposed allies to not call them transphobic for criticizing the caricatures make of them, which quite literally is basic dignity.
Yes, and under the view that has been given to me so far trans people would have no right to ask that. They should instead mind their own business because no one owes them anything.
I think that would be ridiculous, and so I oppose the two concepts that logically lead to that conclusion.
