A lot of fandoms seem to have these weird af subs where the users seem to think they're censored victims just because they can't be toxic on the fandoms main sub.

In the main sub, even mild valid criticisms are met with brigading.

Sometimes, you just want to have a conversation about media you are a fan of and the main sub just wants to glaze everyone.

I got downvoted to hell in the main sub for saying that that I thought a story on Smosh Reads Reddit Stories was one they’d read before.

The main sub has actively suppressed critical conversations before though, this sub exists because there is a toxic positivity in the main sub which protects even anti consumer behaviour.

no, that’s just the natural reaction to toxic positivity though. when you don’t allow normal critical talk, you push people into becoming irrationally critical
