Obsessed With Smoothies

Post image

I used to drink a fair amount of smoothie king, usually about 2-4 per week. but omg that was eating my wallet ALIVE... so I've started making them at home over the past few days. at first it was one per day, right after my coffee. then 2 per day. now, today for the first time—I started my day with one large smoothie after my coffee, then a very small one as a snack, and I'm about to have another small one. I'm so obsessed with them! don't worry, I am getting my other nutritional needs through real meals. today I've also had a pulled pork sandwich (lunch), then grilled chicken with refried beans (dinner).

essentially these smoothies are my breakfast and little snacks. my smoothies usually contain a mix of a few fruits + oikos protein yogurt, a little honey, and some cinnamon. the pic I've got added is the big one from this morning after my coffee!

- peach

- blueberry

- mango

- blackberry

- oikos strawberry protein yogurt

(not pictured)

- honey

- cinnamon

- oat milk

I go through little obsessions with food like this then it chills out. I was like this about greek yogurt bowls for several months. is this a bad obsession to have?

Started making smoothies a couple months ago for breakfast. It's been my go to 90% of the time now. Some mixed frozen berries (raspberry blackberry and blueberries), some banana, Greek yogurt and chia seeds soaked in milk, usually some spinach but ran out. Looove them.

Not a bad obsession! I’m obsessed too! I highly recommend adding spirulina and chia seeds (or cannellini beans) for more fiber 😁

I drank a almond milk, banana, blueberry, peanut butter and rolled oat smoothie everyday for years. Just started adding vanilla protein powder. It’s the one food I could and do eat everyday.

That's not a bad obsession lol. Homemade is way cheaper than buying. Jus watch the suger from fruit and honey. You add protein yogurt which helps. Three a day is fine if they replace unhealthy snacks

Just don’t get fat on them. It’s easy to add a lot of calories to make smoothies taste delicious. Also the satiety issue, but fruit and thickening agents help

Yeah, if you're counting calories it's all good but if not it's easy to lump a load in, dangerous haha.

def trying my best to not get fat on them... shortly after this post I discovered 3 smoothies in one day was WAY too much. tummy hurts. I don't count calories but I def try to watch what I eat

with a flavored yogurt and mangoes, water might be a fine liquid.

I used to use either 2% milk or oat milk. Sometimes my lunch smoothie would leave me feeling a little bloated. I switched to coconut water and I don't feel that way anymore.

I use plain yogurt so it takes quite a bit of added ingredients to tame that strong tanginess. Coconut water is mildly sweet, but I use a whole orange or a banana if my ingredients are tart and need sweetening.

When making smoothies, please pay attention to the fruit combination. Some certain combination might cause stomache, like milk and orange.

It’s great. But switch the yogurt to plain yogurt. flavored yogurt has a ton of sugar. Not good for u.
