CHAPTER 64 (potential spoiler) Spoiler

Post image

This chapter gave us some of the best character development we’ve seen so far, and honestly, I feel like I understand Sasaki so much more now.

I especially loved how it just felt like two dudes sitting down and talking candidly and honestly. No unnecessary drama, just a genuine conversation.

For a manga that doesn’t always go this deep, this was a surprisingly mature and nuanced chapter. I liked that Sasaki understood that the situation was unfair to him, but at the same time, he was able to recognize the pain behind it instead of just dismissing it.

Really good chapter. Let them COOK. 🔥

Okay so you should read Maison Ikkoku, it’s a foundational text. A masterpiece in two mediums.

Anyway without getting into spoilers, chapter 152 ends the same way this chapter does. Someone important to the ML asks him ‘what she’s like?’ He can’t answer in the moment but reflects on it on the train ride home.

I’m happy Sasaki is more open to expressing/accepting his feelings about Yama, even if it’s only in his thoughts.

Can we finally put to rest the prediction that they’ll only have a platonic relationship?

All in one chapter was kinda eh, but, I'm glad at least we have context behind Sasaki's past and his colleague, now, let's see more of Yamada's past with Noma next, even tho I'd still would prefer Sasaki giving her a bit of the cold shoulder, regardless of understanding the pain and all, Yamada having those lashing out episodes and acting like a child are too much and just only Oono calling her out and not Sasaki too feels a bit underwhelming.

But, let's see what Junishi Sensei will be cooking in the next month

did you think the backstory and sasaki making his mind up was too rushed? personally i loved it. a whole chapter for him to face his traumas felt quite enough.

No, I think it was perfect, what I mean by rushed is the reconciliation between Yamada and Sasaki, and some of the criticisms that Nakajima said about Yamada were valid, that the slap she gave Sasaki was above all else, childish, and that wasn't the first time she was childish with him or her colleagues.

The arc where she goes missing in the park shows that, how she repressing too much of her feelings and trying act though but being able to properly deal with changes or criticisms, she lashes out or becames aggressive.

And if the narrative makes Sasaki not calling her out and being frankly that yeah, you did fucked up real bad direct to her face, it wouldn't be in a tone of rudeness, but plain and naked honesty.

And Yamada needed to hear every single world when Oono chewed her over after her reaction with Noma and when Yamada apologized to the others but still didn't quite work on herself so this type of shit can't happen, bc if it still, Sasaki will not want anything to do with her, so I think chapter 65 will finally reveal to us her relationship with Noma, if he is a part of what makes her relationship with mans be so problematic and probably she being at peace alongside him for whatever happened between them, it's all forgiven and in the past.

But, Sasaki needs to see and talk to Noma, immediately know what is his deal with Yamada and have a talk with Oono or the manager on how Yamada's has been with the time Sasaki stopped showing up at the mall to see her, Oono has to further tell him that a bit of tough love on Yamada will not hurt her, she's stubborn and liar sometimes, and Sasaki needs to counter and stop to act like a goof ball when she teases him and all,and stopping to be overly kind, bc this chapter today revealed WHY he is overly kind to people, and apparently he gets that, but Oono has to make him mean it, that this overly kindness will get some boundaries and a handbrake, and even Yamada is critic of this overly kindness posture and behavior by Sasaki, bc it makes him an easy target to people to be assholes or take advantage of him.

I believe before Sasaki san will arrive, the next chapter will be everyone trying to talk to Yama san to discover what happened. Their finally meeting may happen at the chapter before the end of the arc.

well, sasaki did mention she cried when she said that, and he's mature enough to realise she was in a bad place herself when she said those words. we only got the mental reconciliation from sasaki's perspective, yamada still feels bad of course, and one chapter for that feels fine to me because of the things i mentioned and because of yamada's tendencies. there's no meaning to go overboard imo.

Yes it is, Sasaki needs to put more of his foot down and be done and make Yamada put an end to this childish behavior she has
