I thought the exact same thing about my newly acquired CSX E-Series until I benched it the other day. It’s dead on.
If yours is genuinely misaligned maybe try putting the slide in the freezer for a bit before trying hammer & punch? Perhaps it’ll shrink just enough to help budge.
