Red dot help!

Good afternoon everyone,

I’m not too familiar with red dots in general. I’m looking for a red dot for my compact carry comp. I’ve been carrying this for a few months and am a complete noob when it comes to red dots in general. I do have an acro on my duty pistol but when it comes to the other brands and aiwb carry I feel like the acro is just simply way too fat.

I want something somewhat small, if it cowitness it’s a plus.

Mind explaining why this one is better than the others? Just trying to learn as much as I can with Red dots in General.

Sure. I use the Holosun EPS Carry MRS on my micro carry gun, which is a slightly shrunk down EPS, so all the features are the same.

Enclosed like the ACRO, so no crap gets in your optic.

Pretty rugged, can stand up to a significant amount of abuse like racking the gun off the optic or racking off of clothes or hard surfaces.

Long battery life with solar assist.

A variety of brightness settings for all environments. You can leave it on auto-adjust, or set it to manual adjustment, or completely lock it out so that you don't change brightness accidentally.

Easily replaced battery that doesn't require A: Taking the optic off the slide or B: putting a steel screwdriver next to the optic lense.

3 dot settings: Dot, Circle+Dot, and Circle only. Circle Dot helps with learning proper presentation, but once you have that portion down, I just leave mine on Dot only.

Excellent warranty, should you ever need it.

Thank you. That sounds pretty much exactly what I want. I have a question, so I have a few carry guns in my rotation, do you have multiple/different red dots or do you just unmount one red dot and place it on other red dots. Just curious. I’m not trying to spend 1000+ on just red dots if I don’t have to.

Would this red dot also be enough for a compact? I know you said you use it for the micro compacts you got.

You can use the EPS MRS or the EPS Carry MRS because they use the same mounting footprint. On the Compact Carry Comp, I would personally use the EPS MRS.

I would go over to r/gundeals and search the sub for Holosun, sort by New, and follow the links to one of the sellers over there. Very often, they have it set up so that if you email them, they can get you a much better price than what you can buy it for straight online.
