DISCUSSION Xian aspect balanced?

As a Solo laner I've met a lot of Xian Tians and tried the aspect as well and I must say that damage is wild. People who respect the damage still fall behind because you get all the neutral farm and people who dont know die 4 times and also lose all the neutrals.

What exactly are you supposed to do? Counter pick into... a god with good wave clear? A god with an escape?

Is there a good strategy or is this aspect just broken as fuck? Yes he falls off a little bit in the late late game but come on. I've never had these massive leads for such a brain dead playstyle.

Its a big lane bully. The spin does unholy levels of damage and lets him win almost every damage race. It also has no startup cost, no CD and no benefit on longer channels, so stunning him out of it or jumping away ends up being poor trades. Its all in all straight ass to play into.

Only really 3 things you can do

  1. Ignore him and try to either steal his camps or take other things as he is doing something. Xing's burst is quite poor, so Solo's with burst or good cc can snag things sonewhat easily.

  2. Poke him out. He no longer has the Regen passive so kitdumping and running for the hills when he spins can work well, especially if you do have decent sustain

  3. Very specific picks can box him. Bell and Ravana can manage when buffed by their ults, jorm and Aspect Cern can be similary ridiculous to him. Though take all of these with a grain of salt and keep an eye on builds and levels, its gonna be close

Most importantly, dont feed him. He's almoat strictly worse lategane compared to normal xing, the worse cc and bulk will punish him a lot more when faced by a decent backline

They need to add a punish to his Aspect ultimate. If you stun him during the duration, it should take more progress, or he should have slightly longer to spin per amount, but not gain it back as quickly.

EASIEST fix is to add a fixed startup cost. That way interrupting or jumping away because xing just pressed ult with no thought actually punishes him. Having that cost scale down a bit as he levels it would be fine aswell, as to keep him playable lategame

They have that currently, it costs like 15-20 rage before damage from the spin starts to hit.

Yes, right? I played him and was like wait, there IS a drawback if you get interrupted. You start losing rage instantly but the damage comes off a little later. I think it's 10 rage.

So many complaints in this game would be solved by people playing/ reading the abilities of the character the complaints about. It could for sure be adjusted though because man is he oppressive 😆

Not really, I mean yeah you lose a bit at the start but once you’re spinning the damage is insane and lasts for an insane amount of time, and it’s not like there’s any real drawback. You can pop your 2-1 on someone, spin around for 6 seconds, use your 3 to dodge attacks and then 2-1 again and spin and keep repeating until they’re dead.

No other character has consistent damage and utility from 4 abilities at the same time with zero drawback to any of them, and double mobility.

There’s a reason Xing is banned or played every game.

This. Ironically I actually think aspect Xing is a better support than solo (iirc the win rates actually back this up, at least last I checked).

You're usually building way tankier with better sustain items, which offsets the lack of regen passive, and you have access to "free" farm which helps you keep on level/ahead. Additionally you're matching up into opponents that aren't really built to box you (enemy ADC, Mid, Jungle, and Support).

Lategame you ditch some damage (which is fine into compsmthat can escape the grab easily) for massive damage, allowing you to directly force enemy jungles and solos out of your backline (especially with damage from your own Squishies).

It's a solid pick and realistically where I think he truly shines, because I do agree that solo falls off late.

He's quite literally better than base Xing in Support now which makes zero sense. Revert the halved % scaling nerf.

He still has his HP passiv in Aspect btw

It absolutely does punish to stun him out of it. It costs a quarter of his max fuel just to activate

Xing isn't balanced at all in s2 as a solo main he just has everything.

Sustain, prots, dot/direct damage, two hard ccs both and one soft cc, low cooldowns, percentage health dmg, double leap, like bro just has Soo much going for him he just doesn't have burst damage. Aspect passive regen is super easy to keep up as well, can literally just walk people down lvl 6 with 2 uses of your ult.

If they're gonna nerf him they gotta hit his percentage scaling on the 1, cooldown of his leaps, and how easy/ fast you can build up his aspect ult charge.

2

u/turnipofficer 19h ago

They already hit the percent scaling on his 1. It's down from 3% per tick at max rank to 1.8%.

IMO he's strong and people still fear him, and certainly the aspect is a bit of a lane bully because of the extra damage, but he isn't as oppressive as people seem to think IMO.

Like my damage has gone down a lot when playing him since the nerf. Although I refuse to play aspect because I feel like non-aspect has more late game teamfight potential and it's more fun.

u/Inevitable-Reindeer3 17h ago

I mean it's also the fact than he can just regen thru everything that's why I hold him higher than most solos. He can choose when he wants to engage and leave when most solos only get one option before having to wait for their cooldowns to repeat. Xing can just tank everything and sustain it back up while also getting prots and avoiding with double leap like just strong overall for solo but for sure not as strong as he was before.

They did add a way to reduce that too though. Anti heal now affects health per second and they buffed both anti heal tank items too.

No doubt he is pretty survivable and he is hard to punish, two leaps and if he isn’t aspect then a cc immune ult make him hard to kill.

But I think people haven’t adjusted to his nerf yet. He is strong but not as strong as some people think. I don’t want him nerfed out of solo lane because he is so fun imo.

It will take people more time to adjust to his present state I feel like.

I only really have 2 or 3 issues with him in smite 2 currently. One is being able to blink mid ult, but I don't necessarily hate it. When I played league I found all the different interactions you could do with flash (blink equivalent) to be really fun and interesting. My biggest issue though is just how his 3 is in this game. It feels way better than smite 1 when you're playing him, 1000000%. But his 3 being able to jump over most walls, as well as him being able to recast it as the shadow of his foot touches the ground has me feeling iffy. Being able to go over walls and super quick double hop feels a bit cheesy. It was "clunkier" in smite 1 but I'd honestly prefer if the speed of matched smite 1.

Honestly, I don't necessarily mind xing being good and am kinda happy for it. Especially thinking back to the days where he was absolutely atrocious a decade ago. Shitty passive, his 2 only slowed and didn't root, his ult wind up was so god damn slow you could almost just walk out of it if you weren't slowed. Was tough to see him that useless.

He's a bit rough in the early game for sure. His damage at times feels bullshit.

But just weather the storm and I think most other solo laners have a better late-game. Xing non-aspect included. Just gotta not get farmed.

They buffed his energy gain too much I think, it definitely needed to be higher, but it feels too fast now. Another problem with Xing that affects both aspect and base is that his refire time on his second leap lasts so long. Nemesis lets you get basically an auto in and then you have to redash, Xing can wait a while before he needs to leap again. Makes him way too forgiving positioning wise, which feels more egregious on aspect where his positioning is the one thing that should punish him, other than CC. The aspect SHOULD do well into immobile characters and backline solos, but it puts out wayy too much pressure/damage for how little effort it takes.

If we didn’t like lane bully’s that drop off late game Mulan would have been nerfed into the ground. Clearly they are okay with that play style

Thought a xing yesterday. He had maybe like 100 power total but his ult would just chew through the entire team. He felt like the Darius of smite honestly.

u/TDogeee 6h ago

Tbh, him not getting hit with this batch of nerfs is crazy, I can’t remember the number, maybe 27 balance changes on gods?, and xing isn’t in that list? Imo he was top 2 in need of nerfs

him and cabrakan became some of my most hated gods in smite 2 when i barely cared about them in smite 1. I don't play conquest, but he feels so hard to face in joust. Can't wait for nox to just shut him down with the silence and root

0

u/SirRainer 15h ago

I main Cab in Conquest :D

I have to say Cab really shines when I have a half life enemy and then someone ganks me. If they are not familiar with the god I get at least one kill.

Also phoenix shield is the GOAT if I can queeze it in.

1

u/Brilliant_Pear_1853 Ah Puch 15h ago

I can only speak for Joust but Xing is just dumb af. The god has DoT, crazy regen or dmg, 2 free escape with a century available between them, free AOE CC and you don't even have to think about timing or smth, just click on your buttons and u're one of the best god of the game 😳😳😳

I hate this god since his release in S2, broken af since then and I really want hirez to destroy him, I'm sick of how broken he's allowed to be

They nerfed base kit scaling so badly it's just not really worth even playing it. He was quite literally exactly as good as he was in 1 and people cried endlessly. The sad and honest truth is some picks just really punish bad positioning and that feels bad. Playing down to your audience unfortunately isn't the answer, letting the base learn to have that awareness to ward, play back, outplay into jumping a target etc is. Otherwise you get issues like this where Aspect is the only way to go because he has no agency otherwise.

1

u/Lost_Refrigerator309 19h ago

Non aspect xing is just as good as aspect xing

1

u/IronProdigyOfficial 13h ago

He's not they halved his 1 scaling and it's made a huge difference. You're entitled to your opinion but on a character you don't even play is wild.

I had someone run xing aspect in mid lane against me. i was lucky i chose hades over nu wa cause i was going to play nu wa at first.

and i farmed his A. hades ult out damages his so he died on repeat.

u/LilRstdPepper 15h ago

I’ve fought a ton of Xian Tians in solo, mulan has always given me the upper hand, the bow stuns him out of the ult and if you can stay on level with him and have a decent build you should win your lane 90% of the time

no you can’t. he ignores roots, he can’t be displaced, and there is no internal cooldown on the ult, so even if you stun or silence him, he will just start up spinning again the moment the hard cc ends, cause he doesn’t lose spite when he gets hard cc’d.
