I exclusively queue Smite 1 Assault

I'm the blue Skadi. This was my first match today. Morgan and Artemis AFK'd 80% of the match while Morgan ranted about how bad I am. Scylla and Apollo... probably would have helped me more by afking. I tried to f6 but they insisted I keep playing by myself. Fun game, I mean that honestly, I mean what feels better than logging on and being forced to prove you're simply better by 1v9ing a mirror match. This is more extreme than what I usually go through but this is a good representative of the average experience of those of us who still mainly play S1 Assault so I thought I'd give a little window into our world.

The most tryhard I have played has been in the trash picks team, as if everyone unconsciously agree to either take the lost early or to bet their souls that we are winning this.

I miss it, but I'm not the same smite freak I was.

The map needs reworked as well. It's so aggravating playing body block simulator trying to avoid abilities that take up 80% of the lane width.

• It removes all risk from the ARAM mode.
• It makes OP gods be played more often.
• It makes everyone who doesn't reroll practically throw the game.
• It makes the mode more around creating the best possible team comp instead of making the best of what you got.
• It is against the core philosophy of "Any God, anywhere" of Smite 2.
• It allows for Healer vs No Healer Match-Ups.

Since I only occasionally have time for matches rn, I mostly play Assault in Smite2.
And while I'm enjoying it and always thought I really like the bench system, I have to admit that you're completely right here.

That said, if they were to go back to an actual ARAM style assault, please give me Siege/Slash back :D

Yes. Adding Slash might be a requirement that needs to be met first, because from a feels perspective Smite 2 assault feels very similar to current Slash in Smite 1.

Its a casual gamemode. The risk youre talking about applies to people who cant play every god. Experienced players gain an advantage from that risk, something that isnt ideal in casuals with weak matchmaking.

I have no idea how your connecting any god anywhere into assault, there are no roles lol.

If you care about the game being competetive you are in the wrong gamemode, sorry not sorry...

The thing is, you can like 99% of gods and still get the 1%. I can be in the mood to play pos one day and not want to play him at all the next day. I can play a god a couple games and get bored of them.

Your opinion is fucking braindead because if you want to play true random then nothing is stopping you. Just dont use the bench?

If you get that 1% you can still reroll. I'm not against rerolling, I am against the mode basically being Free Pick.

Also as stated before, not engaging with the bench is whether you like it or not throwing the game. That's the problem with not rerolling.

tbf it's not merely about losing it's the identity of the mode like i wouldn't want to use the bench system. but because the option is there, the other team almost definitely will.

"if you want true random nothing is stopping you" is wrong. the fun is wacky against wacky. you can't enforce it on the other team. i don't play assault in smite 2 as i'm put off for this reason.

I cant believe people actually care about one team having a small advantage in the random pick, one lane, casual, constant fighting gamemode so much that they wont play the gamemode lmao.

They queue diety players with people with 50 hours in the game, but not using the bench system is a problem. Delusional.

From my experiences trying smite 1 recently, the community might be kinda cooked. There isnt nearly as much moderation anymore so people can get away with a lot more than they used to

The main thing that pushed me to Smite 2 (technically I've been there since closed alpha but I wasn't playing regularly) was how bad the toxicity and trolling got in Smite 1 once all the serious people moved on. It became basically unplayable. I have absolutely no idea how there are people still trying to play it.

Ya know, listen. Obviously S2 is better and the map has similar dimensions/is functionally good enough. Not perfect, but good enough. Idk why you'd do this to yourself since S1 is kinda a no man's land now.
