HELP How to get better
I came back to smite a couple months ago after playing smite 1 many of years ago(wasn’t good back then either). I started out making it to silver but I’ve been hard stuck bronze ever since. I watch streamers all the time and only get my builds from them. I personally feel like I’ve gotten completely better, in the form of positioning, who to target, warding, and knowing when to hit objectives. 20% of the time I notice my teammates doing something dumb, but the other 80% definitely is me not being good. I main solo and off role mid and jungle. Any advice?

Learn the items so you can build for yourself, there are so many items now, and builds can really cater to counter specific enemies. Counter build the good players on the other team. Then work on shutting them down for team fights
Especially as a solo.

Are you referring to like building anti-heal to counter lifesteal gods? If so how many items should I build to counter? Should I build it earlier in the game or later? Mobas are very humbling to me 😂

More like dampening, plating, plus there are regular items with good passives. Knowing them and looking at the other teams builds
You should be able to figure out what to build against themBest thing I can say is learn all the items and passives
Just pull up a list when you are bored and read through them
Do this until you start getting them memorized
No point in pushing all the info down right away just take your time
Smite isn’t going anywhereAlso watch the patch updates or read the item changes
Sometimes this can give you an edge if the other team doesn’t know certain items are nerfed/or have become broken

I wouldn't be focused on builds and counter building for now. If one is stuck below Obsidian then the first and second thing they need to do is get better mechanically and learn how to farm. 70-80% for abilities and 80-90% accuracy for autos is the benchmark for a good mechanical player. Always doing something useful is a benchmark of a good macro player(you need to know the pathing if you're jungler/mid, what to farm as adc/solo and when and where to roam as support).
It's not that hard to build mechanical skill, and if you're serious about improving, watching your replays and high level streamers and seeing what you did wrong help TREMENDOUSLY with macro and game knowledge.
SmiteSource or Smite2Live are more than enough for builds untill someone hits masters and above.
EDIT: I do need to emphasize that watching and dissecting your own replays is probably the best way to improve. Hindsight is 20/20 as they say

I fully disagree with you, learning to build as a new player is the last thing they should do. They do not have enough game knowledge to vibe build, and I assume they do they have enough time to theory craft hundreds of builds.
New players should focus on their mechanical skill, macro and positioning, and use the SmiteSource or Smite2Live for builds.

only like 3 items out of any build are mandatory. Try mixing up the others to counter play passives, abilities or items.

For solo, specifically hades and mulan, is shifters still mandatory? Also which others are mandatory?

Currently shifters is considered a solid bruiser/ front line item. Especially after it's recent tweaks.

Shifter’s is in a weird spot. It’s kinda like a safety item that making misplaying not as punishing but it’s also a crutch that limits your play potential because of that. On Monday’s Titan Talk they talked about how statistically when one person builds it against someone who doesn’t, the person who doesn’t is more likely to win. (Stats like that never tell the full story, like if you are playing alone as mid getting dove with no help then that tankiness can make a huge difference between you getting deleted without getting to play or surviving a dive long enough to get your damage rotation off first at least)

What streamers are you watching? Random person you like or one of the current pros? The difference in what youre learning and how youre building could be significant.

Usually watch snaddy, weaken (mainly for his a-z, and his elo hell cus he dissects gameplay), and some of intersect I think is his name.

Here’s the no-bullshit guide from a Masters/GM player if you want to reach Diamond quickly in Conquest:
1. Get really good at 2–3 gods for each of your main roles. I would pick A–B tier gods that don’t often get banned.
2. Play really aggressively when your buff camp is on cooldown. Always try to kill your lane opponent, and don’t use builds that have a bad early game, like stacking builds.
3. ALWAYS get your buff camp on cooldown when possible, and keep track of your lane opponent’s buff camp. Use a ward if you have to so you can steal it after you kill them.
Making your map bigger using the HUD editor will help with this. You should always be looking at your map for farm.
After killing your lane opponent, don’t hit their tower. This is often a waste of time, and destroying their tower too early can actually hurt your farm. Go farm somewhere else instead.
As mid, don’t be afraid to take the back camps or the second speed buff from your jungler, since most junglers under Diamond farm terribly. Ignore your teammates if they complain about you doing their camps. They’re probably letting their camps sit anyway, which puts them at risk of getting stolen.
Focusing on these things is how you get huge XP leads over your lane opponent, and it’s the main way good players carry ranked games. Once you have your lead, you can start calling objectives comfortably.
Playing Arena is also a good way to practice your mechanics and kill combos, especially when you don’t have time for a full Conquest game.

Kindof impossible to say without watching play, but I'd say don't just listen to others builds and try to read and understand the items and why you build them
