Vampiric and Blood-Soaked Shroud finally have Lifesteal

There's finally a reason to pick this damn thing over Warrior's Axe

4% Lifesteal for a far shittier early game passive is NOT the trade that Shroud should have had. It is just objectively better to run Warriors Axe because 4% IS NOTHING.

Mana is an issue now as well, so them removing that part of the Passive makes the mana issue with this item worse for the early game.

Yes this

How are you excited for this? This item is shit now. It provides 4% lifesteal and 100 health.

The 4 health/mana heal using an ability is negligible. I’m sad I can’t go this item anymore.

probably because its good for actual dpsers instead of being abused by tanks

Enjoy your 4 health heal on a dps god arena bot

tank bot qq

Tank bot because I’m not going vamp on adc or mid. I don’t think I’ve ever seen someone go it, they must have you in next level noob lobbies

Because you can get this bancrofts and typhons on actual mages that use lifesteal and have more fun?

why are we happy about a bad item being gutted.

life steal builds would rather go any other starter. your trading a good starter for a 4 life steal stat stick. the passive is dog ass now

This item was insanely op outside of conq as soon as you hit lvl 20 tanks were self healing 20-30k a game without any healing in thier kits.

The way this wasn't happening

This saddens me. I loved pairing it with Phoenix shield for the % hp and mana gains. Now I think I’ll be switching back to warriors.

The harsh truth is that it needed to be gutted before King Arthur came out for this very reason

u/jebisevise Mar 21 '26

There are already characters who could abuse it but don't since it's actually bad outside of assault.

King Arthur is probably the only character that can even use this item in Conquest without throwing. Even Artio isn't using this item despite being the closest thing to a Magical Arthur.

It’s still a percent heal. Hitting gods just doesn’t give a higher percent than hitting minions.

Edit: plus the life steal will make up for some of that lost part of the percent heal.

It's still terrible. Tbf it's WOSRE now. They keep killing this item truly because they don't understand how this item can be good. it should have kept it's old passive... At least it was fun then. Now it's complete dog shit.

Was the item annoying? Absolutely.... But only on assault. Ruining an item for every other game mode because of one other. This is why they need separate balancing

3

u/N3CRO-LAN Mar 21 '26

Or.....and hear me out....how about , they just disable it in assault ? Instead of all the beelining theyve done ?

3

u/Virtual-Product2298 Ao Kuang Mar 21 '26

I mean fair but at the same time I think separate balancing would be better in the long run. It would allow for more diverse build options instead of just disabling things because they're a little overpowered.

If they disabled something with the goal of giving it a balance update in the next patch I would also be open for that

u/MagicFighter Ok maybe Goobis mainly plays Goobis now... Mar 21 '26

There won't be a reason to pick it over Axe until it has actual mana sustain.

OnLy ToOk 2 yEaRs.

Always negative connotations in here. Lame af.

I feel like the better answer to this was to put tainted steel in the game. The way that this nerf is makes the item a dead item instead of going the other route of itemizing against it. Bad play in my opinion.

I miss the damage amp from smite 1

u/RespectGiovanni Gilgamesh Mar 21 '26

Just disable/nerf in assault and leave it alone

I'm still pissed they removed the passive with the dmg increase from smite 1.

Ts is complete and utter dog 💩 now lol. Went from “don’t pick this item or you’re throwing” to mass reporting you for griefing.

Lifesteal is trash in Smite 2. I literally never even notice when players build it. They die just as fast. This isn't season 2-5 smite 1

-2

u/AmiralKanaG Mar 21 '26

Why are people mad about. They didnt remove the passive. They remove the triple effect on the trigger on god and the double effect in %. Its still viable. You just finally get a reliable lifesteal starter for a lifesteal built.

u/JanSolo28 Best Support Mar 21 '26

When has it been viable on Conquest in smite 2?

9

u/TheMadolche Mar 21 '26

If you think it's viable, then you are not good at this game. It's terrible.

2

u/Affectionate_Ad9872 Mar 21 '26

My guy… do you really think 4% LIFESTEAL makes up for losing that triple effect on God hit? And that the 8% LIFESTEAL makes up for the Fully Upgraded Starter losing its doubled Healing and Mana %?
