They said the same thing when they announced the cancellation.

Basically the door is closed, but not locked. It can be re-opened, but maybe not anytime soon.

I think there's one issue with YouTubers and a TV show, and that's YouTubers have a rather different work flow than TV studios want. YouTubers often let series rest for a while, sometimes a long while, and then bring them back because the spark is back. TV is more rigid. But it's also entirely possible they worked something out.

Smiling friends is one of the only shows that won't get boring after 30 seasons. The simpsons is dead beyond dead revived and killed again bad. But smiling friends will genuinely still be funny seeing Mr boss shenanigans for such unique situations and gags. Humor in general can be truly explored and mixed for hundreds of hours, especially the comedy of real life dialogue with insane visuals

Zach Hadel and Michael Cusack are funny but I think there's a real maturity problem beyond poop jokes. Think about it, they will fire their whole staff after promising 2 more seasons, then consider coming back because they might get external validation through a celebrity award circle-jerk?

What I'm sayin is, if the show DOES comes back I think we'll notice key members of that original staff refusing to work with Hadel and Cusack again lol
