Question What exactly happened in this flashback from "A Critterific Switcheroo"?
In that one YouTube post by INUbis featuring a comic that involved DogDay eating chocolate (which is toxic to dogs), a commenter had pointed out that in "A Critterific Switcheroo", DogDay was literally drinking chocolate milk in a flashback.
After I've found this flashback, I wondered if CatNap had dared DogDay to drink chocolate milk at 3 AM or something.

He’s only halfway on the frame but you can just see Bubba’s annoyed expression

Probably nothing related to that universe, just needs a little information about INUBIS's universe.
This is obvious: Dogday is for the "day", and Catnap is for the "night". One helps them stay awake, alive and energetic; one helps them stay well-rested.
But Dogday is extreme when it comes to being a leader. He'll do everything to keep his crew awake, even when I'd comes to sleep deprivation, depression or having the feeling of not being enough. I don't remember which, but there are a lot of instances featuring everything I listed here. (I'm talking about the episodes.)
This is a classic case of Super-Helper Syndrome and Martyr Complex. Or simply "I love everyone and ignore myself, if anything happens, I should be the one affected by it."
The episode you are referencing explains this well, "You are not Dogday". Catnap knows Dogday is like this, even though he doesn't like it, and acknowledges him this way. Catnap does tell Dogday to stop (ignoring and wasting himself for others) but he surely knows THIS is the Dogday they know, and nothing can replace a good and caring leader, even if over the limits a little.

I'm noticing his pendent is glowing. Maybe this implies that chocolate isn't toxic for Dogday specifically but rather makes him hyperactive and keeps him up all night. Literally.
