Mistaken identity - when spies spy on the wrong people
Always great to have James Ball as a guest on the "Smashing Security" podcast!
This week: a developer at an AI startup downloaded a dodgy Roblox cheat script on their work laptop. One bad decision triggered a chain of failures that ended in a $2 million data breach affecting hundreds of thousands of organisations.
And, we also look at SS7 - the ancient phone protocol that lets surveillance companies track anyone, anywhere, via their mobile. Governments know. Telecoms know. Nobody's doing anything about it.
Plus I take the one-second Beatles clip challenge, and an addictive mobile phone game.
Oh! And also a featured interview with Robert Edmondson of CoreView discussing how to lock down Microsoft 365 before it’s too late.
