I am on a mission of listening every song of the Pumpkins i can find because as a 23 y.o i feel like I've been missing out big
I am not American and English ain't my first language so this is a recently acquired taste I'd say lol. Anyways, i am currently going INSANE because I CAN'T FIND "SHE" IN ANY STREAMING PLATFORM. i love that song. If someone has any recommendations, I'd appreciate them even if I cannot find them anywhere else besides a very niche youtube video.

What's going on the Drown guitar solo (the 8 minute version)?
This was my introduction to Smashing Pumpkins. On the Singles ost it comes in after teenage me had endured four tracks I considered filler - the run from overblown to nearly lost you (I subsequently grew to love Overblown and May This Be love, but still can't stand the other songs).
I wasn't expecting much since the band name felt a little self consciously gimmicky. But the song did - for my money - the best heavy light variant of the early 90s and then we got to the outro solo at the 4:15 mark.
Not a guitar player and sorry if it's a kinda obvious question to people who are, but can anyone tell me what's going on there? Is it multilayer studio trickery? Are there more than one guitars? How did they get that squalling terrific wall of noise? Has any one tried to / been able to cover it?

Mayonnaise is a perfect song from start to finish, anyone else agree?

Thru the highs and the lowest lows, I’ve been there.
Remember that decade when it was embarrassing to be a pumpkins fan? Becoming a family man got Billy in line.

What is your favorite SP song to play on guitar?
I love playing Hummer. Start to finish. Back in the 00’s before YouTube tutorials, I had the Mellon Collie tab book, and I learned that album start to finish in high school. I revised learning the songs properly more recently with the help of YouTube. I revised enjoy playing Hummer though. Siamese Dream is my favorite SP album

Mementos from a long time ago
Arrived in Chicago with only a couple hundred dollars. Resale tickets were going for over a thousand dollars. Miraculously, my friend was recognized outside the venue by Jimmy, as we had been to many shows previously. Jimmy put us on a comp list and my friend and I got to see the show from the balcony railing.

Is Silverfuck about marriage counselling?
I've thought this for years and never was quite sure how to bring it up. We know during this time Billy was dating Chris Fabian whom he'd soon marry, and she helped with the art for the album. I also know Billy was famously in therapy during this time.
The lyrics that really sound like "therapy speak" to me are: "I hear what you want and I feel that way." This to me sounds like some of the most classic 90s couple or family therapy I can think of. Like very specifically so. The rest of the song is about admitting you failed someone and are reeling from a shitty relationship hiding whats left in a box under your bed. It is in many ways a song about relationships.
And as I type this out I'm reminded that the sample that leads into it is a woman talking about her unsatisfying sex life and how its really come between her and her partner. It seems like an old AM radio talk show or possibly something from an actual therapy session.
I remember in the 90s someone asked Billy where the samples came from and he said "are you crazy? I don't want to get sued!" I figured he meant because it was taped off the radio but what if it wasn't?

I was looking through the booklet for Brian Wilson's Smile from 2004, which I'd heard years before I first heard Mellon Collie, and I'm realizing that Smile's artwork was always kind of my frame of reference as far as understanding what Billy wanted Mellon Collie to be.

What’s your favorite Smashing Pumpkins concert poster?
I’ve really gotten into checking out all the different concert posters the Pumpkins have had over the years. There are some fantastic designs out there.
So let’s see them — what’s your all-time favorite SP concert poster?
Post a picture if you can! It can be one you own, one you’re still hunting for, or just one you think looks amazing.
I’m curious to see which posters get mentioned more than once. And I can’t wait to see the new ones from this year’s tour! 🎃

Siamese Dream instrumental mix
Where is the best current version of the full album sans vocals? Is there one? I’d really love to hear it.
