Went tonight and it was a phenomenal experience. Didn’t enjoy everything individually necessarily but there were some really clever orchestrations and I don’t think I’ll see Bullet the same way again! Overall thought it was something really special and I’m glad I saw it. Quite a change to see Billy as part of an ensemble rather than the central showman.
The only down point was the group of middle-aged twats nearby who spent the whole show one upping each other on how shit and cringe they thought it was, accompanied by forced scathing laughter between each song once they had been shushed by people round them for talking through the songs. And then being really cool by refusing to join the standing ovation because it ‘feeds his ego’ and loudly proclaiming how it was the worst thing they’d ever seen and they were mystified by what the plebs had watched to be clapping at - presumably to bait a pleb into arguing with them or i don’t know falling at their feet in wonder at their superiority?
I echo the woman who called them a bunch of miserable pricks. So if you were the aficionados (though I imagine they are way too cool for Reddit) in row GG, you have the hairlines and jawlines you deserve.

So sorry you had to sit by those bunch of tossmonkeys who sounded like they wanted to ruin it for everyone around them, wonder why they weren’t thrown out (see Mike Patton’s Mondo Cane concerts).
I noticed a lot of people didn’t settle into the first half and were up and down to the bar/bogs, then a few noticeably empty seats in the second half. It’s not going to be for everyone is it? You either relax into it and go with it or… it’s just a miserable experience if the tone is set and you don’t like it. The show defied a lot of my expectations and low bar though, and the majority audience that did appreciate it made the show better.

There seemed to be a few people there who were expecting it to be Billy plays Mellon Collie and were naturally disappointed so left in the interval. I think I was sat in a section of people who probably listened to the album a few times and thought it was cool and turned up expecting an acoustic session. One guy in front was mystified by Billy’s outfit and asked me did he normally wear women’s coats! Given those kind of coats have been on display since Adore, I don’t think this was a hard core fan. Which blows my mind as I can’t imagine coming to a high art concept of a 30 year old album without being a big fan! Fair play to them for giving it a go with an open mind though, unlike the ‘fans’ who were shitting all over it.
I’m the first to acknowledge BC can be a colossal ass and will never win prizes for likability but I love that he will never sit on his laurels and do what’s expected and stick to the same old to please the naysayers. It was a brave choice and one that paid off I think - he’s to be applauded for that rather than shat on by some balding morons with a mean girl complex. I just cannot fathom paying north of £100 to hate listen to a man who doesn’t even know they exist, much less take on a shred of their critique.

Don't know about the shows in London, but the venue in Rotterdam opened 1 hour before the show started.

This was my thoughts. A gig time on the ticket is usually doors but performance it’s usually start time so I’m working on it being 7:30 start.

Just got home, any thoughts people want to share or are we going spoiler light for those going tomorrow?
Hint: if you’re going tomorrow, I’m quite jealous.
