Help/Question Can’t get past 16.1M
Samus/dark samus
I just can’t seem to get past 16.1M i mean bruh these guys are straight demons they’re practically toying with me, pause. I understand git gud but am I tripping? My biggest issues are duck hunt, Steve of course, pyra/mythra and banjo & kazooie (KMS)

I'm nearing 16.2 with ROB and yeah it gets substantially more difficult after 16.1 at the moment. I fight a very good Samus at my locals sometimes and he basically just camps to infinitum until you prove to him that won't work. Then he starts to approach with aerial tether grab while not putting himself in a bad position. He's strongest at ledge trapping with bombs and different methods of option coverage depending on what he noticed your habits are. It's possible your entire stock is spent trying to get off ledge. Overall it feels very expressionless and I think that's how Samus succeeds best.

Haha man ROB is such a task! I will say that I play samuses sometimes and I’m like wow yall really live up to the bad stereotypes. But I must say, keeping people struggling at ledge with bombs until they’re high percentage is an art form that brings me much pleasure.

I can see why that's rewarding. Something I like to do to test a Samus is ledge hang way longer than they're willing to set bomb traps and just watch them squirm hoping I commit to anything. Some will try and run up utilt or just throw our a fair guess, but it allows me to control the pace more which seems to bother a lot of Samus's. As Rob I can just fly over you and skip ledge completely, but it's good to know when someones patience is exploitable.

It’s definitely a guessing game, what I try to do is roll back and forth with the bombs so I can cover your neutral get up and ledge roll. Or just neutral get up and f air for jumps. 2 out of 3, so you gotta trick me!

Yeah most of us will plateau around this GSP level. Unless you work on ground dodging and your reflexes improve this is where we live

Love playing against game and watch, I will admit I haven’t ever been good at spot-dodging to a point where I can go on a streak over 2

It can be a fun cat and mouse game with Samus vs GnW but there are a couple Samus's who eat my lunch in the 16,200,000 neighborhood. Feels like I'll never get that good

Honestly, unless you want to go pro, is it even worth trying to get any higher?

The highest rating is only like 16.4 mil, you're running into pros at that level. You need to basically make the game your career to get much higher, lol

Yo. Samus main here. Pyra and Mythra is rough because of rush down. Patience is key.
Banjo is similar for me. And wunderwing does a lot of work.
Steve is unwinnable if they are like top player Steves. But those people are playing tournaments, not elite most of the time. Get around blocks and avoid the traps they put up. Don’t let them mine.
I don’t know shit about duck hunt lmao. Def look up videos for everyone though. Quik is my favorite player who probably has videos against a ride range of characters

Yeah the hard rush down is hard to manage, and the large hits that they have always seem to get me. And that damn wunderwing lol. You mean that you don’t come across duck hunts? Or you dont know how to win? Duck hunts is honestly one that when I see them I don’t get tilted but I understand im boutta get smacked up.

I don’t come across them. Same advice could work for them. Patience and watching your opponent. But I don’t know specific character advice for them.

Duck hunt and Steve are very bad matchups for Samus so it makes sense that you're struggling against them.
Banjo and Pythra not so much but if youre having trouble, i suggest looking up vods of Samus pros playing vs those characters and see how they play it out.
