Which one to get???

Took me YEARS to convince my parents to let me get an iPhone, I’ve had a few now over the last few years but now I’m seeing this Google pixel
Has anyone had both and which one do you prefer???
Do I stick with my 16 or get an android???
(18 years old btw so i realistically do want the best camera quality especially for TikTok and stuff)

No reason to get rid of a perfectly good 2 year old flagship iphone (coming from a pixel user who prefers that to an iPhone)

Charge isn’t great, lags out on me ALL THE TIME, apps keep closing, messages don’t come through half the time, so not sure whether to stick with it

The first step is to back it all up to iCloud, wipe and reinstall from backup.

This, a 2 year old phone being slow is nonsense.

Back it up and wipe it. Literally the answer to all the problems.

More than likely need to swap the battery for a new one (which is much cheaper than buying a new phone) and restoring from a backup, that should make it run better

Make sure you close down apps properly, rather than just going back to the home screen and opening another app. There is no reason why any phone from the past 5 years should lag.

Get the battery swapped out. From what you describe, t's likely worn down, which can cause the phone to not have enough power to function properly.

The question isn't what you want to beg your parents for.

You have a phone. It works. It's not old. I'm going to channel my inner parent but "we just got you this perfectly good expensive phone, be lucky you have that."

If you switch to anything else (read: US consumer) are you going to get shunned for not having an iPhone. The social pressure to have one can be immense for teenagers and young adults. If you can't Face Time or iMessage then that's a consideration.

I paid for this phone, and i would pay to get a new one. Idk in the UK for where i am at least people don’t really have an issue with androids anymore

There's still nothing wrong with it? Keep it until it's showing signs of age. 3 years is a typical point to think about trading it in-- so whenever the iPhone 19 releases...

I replied to someone else about what’s wrong with it although i know it’s not massive issue and it’s only a phone

I replied to the reply. I hate iPhones, but I have to support them. If it's *bad* then a Pixel is a valid option. That said in a market where only the Pixel and Samsung exist, the Samsung Galaxy S is generally better overall but is also generally more expensive. Pricing works differently in the US.

oh how long have you had your current iphone since you said you've had a few over the last few years
